Milk is difficult to gather, but not impossible. My team and I have gathered a stack of 101 milk that I am saving for when I make master BE.

Well, insofar as the 15% thing is concerned, I modify my previous statement.

I wasn't aware that the modifiers would let you call anything above your class level right now.. interesting, anyways, I find having +taming very useful.. just now I tamed 2 rancors easily each on the first try with +23 to taming, that's an incredible difference, I used to always fail and die.

just a little fyi. at 2-2-0-0 i cannot call a mauler, but if i equip my +13 taming sunguard i can. so it does have an up side.

What is exceptionally clear to me is BE's do not seem to understand the difference between taming level and a bonus to taming wild and visious creatures. I have explained it in the past.
