Carry some dice with you, like a chance cube or normal dice, roll it before you hit 'next' roll em until the numbers are coming up low (or high, whatever you want, i do low) and they give you a hint to how lucky you are at them moment (remember, bad luck comes in spates) if you numbers are coming up good, make the item. Who cares if its supersticous? It works for me.
