Knowing what you get pre-experimentation is somewhat useful, but to be honest I think all this stuff is only semi-useful because we're missing the big piece: how to predict the CL.

Can you expand on what you're talking about? I've never gotten a special that wasn't in the DNA i was using.

What I am talking about is combining 5 DNA with their attributes and specials and ending up with a template with a special that did not exist in any of the DNA I used. That is as far as I am able to expand it. It isn't a constant thing, I have had it happen about a half dozen times or so. And before someone asks, I am certain that a rogue DNA with the special on it did not happen to slip into my DNA bag.

hmm really weird then. I've never seen anyone else report that. *boggle*

What samples were you using when this happened? Some wild creatures can have three specials or more...you'll only ever see two of those specials listed, but they havethe ability to do other attacks. Possibly what you saw was one of these "ghost" specials coming into play when none of the proper special1 or special2s came through, though this is only true for some high-level creatures.

If I know the stats of my DNA is there anyway I can tell what the base value of the stat will be in the final combine?

for example

I have 5 Murra Ikopi DNA that all have 20 Fortitude..With zero experimentation what would be the value in the final combine

By knowing this *approx* value before I start crafting will not have to use so much good DNA experimenting

Has this formula been worked out yet??

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

You may have posed what you feel is a simple question... and granted your question is simple. The answer, however, is one of extreme complexity. We are not a science of (5+5+5+5+5)/5=5. There are so many different variables that are taken into account when 5 dna are combined that there are no simple equations. I have yet to figure out how I manage to get a special on a final combine that did not even exist in any of the DNA samples I was using.

I want to answer your question with a "NO" but that would not be entirely fair. Because with work and effort I have been able to get a rough idea of what to expect in a combination of DNA depending on which slot the different DNA is placed. But to translate what I have learned into a post that will have any value for anyone else seems an extremely daunting task. I fear trial and error is still your best teacher in this profession.

I apologize for my inabilityto answer in a more concise way for you.

me either.

I did manage to get a special that was only in the first two slots though... thought that was pretty kooky myself.
