So the question remains - WHAT IS VALID?

Give us definite guidelines. They've said before we're supposed to be able to exceed the limitations of a CL10 when making a CL10, but they've *never* said by how much (other than the elusive CL15 in wild = CL10 BE, but if you mix the appropriate vulns and damage rates, that's what you get, something that is equivalent to a CL15 in the wild - not our fault things in the wild have multiple defenses and ours only has 1 or 2).

YAY NANCY! Thank you so much for getting this out. I think this is the exact answer Iand other members of the community were asking for!
Nemthang, man! If I had only thought of that tradebefore sharing all mine! Hopefully Nancy will still pull for that, and I won't have let the community down.....
Unfortunately I am dropping BE next weekend or so

Another one bites the dust eh?

Sad to see you go Gothar, you've been a very valuable member of the community.

Heck at this point I would be happy if they just remove the check from the taming process and place it onto the crafting process...

Maybe the validation would then read something like "mutation detected, pet reassembled" and then change the lvl to match those stats.

My main issue is not really the checks at this point, it is where the checks occur. At least if the happened during deeding we would be able to sell products that we know would be valid. There would not have to be disclaimers or refunds. Besides if this is a problem with the BE system, why is the check on the CH system?

And what would you have them tell us? a 20 page list of ifs... if it has 4k ham it can have no more than 40 damage and 20 aggregate resist or 50 damage and 15 aggregate resist or.....

I think you see what I'm getting at, there's no way to tell us what a valid pet is without giving us the formulas that we've already been told we're not getting. We don't need to know what a valid pet it, we need to know that when we make pets it will be within bounds and not be invalid. We should be able to simply know that if we made it, it's valid.

Unfortunately, that is obviously asking too much of the devs

...yeah What talth said.

I could ask for a complete list of valid conditions but I'm not gonna get it so what would be the point?

Keldarin said: "I'd be very interested in knowing how the "High HAM, High Kinetic" pet was made. That one has stats that are even out of the range that I was aware could be made. The other one is pretty standard for the broken pets however."

See? Even the DEVS want recipes! (Sorry, that's a joke).

Nancy, I know you know how to make these, but tell Keldarin that I will trade him my CL10 60% kinetic uberpet recipe (complete with exact dna, exact experimentation steps, etc.) for:

- A CL indicator during the crafting process

- Fixes to the crafting process so that "pet checks" and adjustments after a pet has been tamed aren't necessary

- Skill tapes for BE

I think that's a fair exchange.

I think it's great that some of us in the BE community understand the cloning system better than the creator.

So with an answer like that we shouldsee Keldarin's personal mailbox filling withposts requesting a confirmation on whether or not it's ok to sell a pet? Still no acceptable answer. If I make something using the intended mechanics of the game I don't want to have to worry about it screwing up.

Keldarin let me pose this question to you. Lets say you purchase a $20,000 grandfather clock from Clocks-R-Us for $1000. On the back of the clock isa small stickerthat reads, "Clock has a slight chance of not being valid when wound." When you get it home andwindit a message comes up telling you that it's invalid because the clock is worth a hell of a lot more then you paid. The clock then requires you to convert it from a beautiful grandfather clock to either a travel alarm clock or a plastic wall mount clock. So you convert it to a travel clock. You figure you'll take it back to the vendor and what do you get... "Did you take heed to the disclaimer clearly written on the clock? I'll give you a grand for it, because that's all I can get for it now that it's been converted." Sorry no refund for you... So do you feel cheated? Tell that to the people who've purchased pets and had them go invalid because there was nothing there to tell us whether or not it's invalid at assembly.

Ok, you have your answer straight from Keldarin himself, whether or not you think its Ok to sell these pets is up to your own integrity.

Keldarin's comments tell us two things, 1. That making these pets isnt considered to be 'cheating' or exploiting and 2. that they will be a fix coming for them and any in the system will be adjusted.

So you will not be punished for making them, although we know they are well outside the accepted limits for non-CH pets, whether you continue to sell them is up to you. You cant expect the devs to dictate your morality.
