Thread: Your lowest lvl with armor

Yes with no damage mitigation they don't live very long I just tried to make my PvP pets with 60% Kin no armor and no other resists.
That is exactly what I do as well
I like my comfy merek/BMB clones... trying to make em with the same stats but with an vuln in kinetic is just too much of a pain in the butt....
Way I look at it, these pets can also moonlight for PvE as well with the kinetic protections
I'm the BE correspondant - its my job to care about our bugs, there are plenty other correspondants to deal with all the combat issues. And whats the point asking anyway? The answer is always wait for the combat rebalance
Maybe I'm wrong cos I've never owned one but I was under the impression that the T21 is AR3
I can routinely get armor on CL 18's with decent stats and high kinetic. I have managed 16's with good stats, and 15 once, but the CL 15 was a test case, and the rest of its stats were too poor for me to keep it or allow it to be sold.
I stock "triplet level" (CL 23/24 pets) on my vendor with armor and 60% kinetic, generally in the 9k-9500 health range, though with relatively low damage (150-200's generally) as the major tradeoff.

Just because I personally dont know whether or not its a bug or intended doesnt mean that the information isnt out there.

The T21 is AR3. It does energy damage
LOL. No actually I appreciate it. Gives me something to do, what with not being able to even give away tissues these days.
The last one was kinda funny though. He wanted 2 CL 21's with armor and 60% kinetic and intimidation special. Ok,not that hard, done that plenty of times, but one of the critters I was making had a failure early in experimentation (forthose that don't know, failures in experimentation when making low level pets isusually a very good thing)and it came out CL 19 with for all intents and purposes the same stats as the CL 21. I showed that to him, no complaints from him, he gladly accepted it, but you know what came next... he wanted 2 more CL 19's with those stats, lol. I think he must have ground another level or two just to be able to use 2 19's now, lol. Oh my.

As for the no armour and vulns in PvP pets - I guess it comes down to giving the customer what they want, not what they need
Yeah, that last part tends to irritate me when it comes to customers... I basically gave up trying to explain to people why they dont want armor and res in PvP... I just tell them to go bug Arthur.... Poor Arthur... I sentso manypain in thea$$ customers his way I'm probably going to BE hell
Re: pvp pets. I prefer to make them un-armored as well, but not because of the "armor-hole" (I assume that will be fixed, so I don't stress over it). I do it because I figure that in PVP your opponent will probably be targeting you instead of the pet anyway so may as well sell out to give the pet great offensive capabilities and just hope that it can put some hurt on him before it dies.
One of the ones I was most proud of was a little bunny with ranged attack and 500ish damage in the CL 35 range. The guy I made it for raved about it.

My personal best is:
CL16 Narglatch
7606 Health
3873 Action
3981 Mind
Light Armor, 56% Kinetic
120-130 damage
strong poison
strong disease

I had a guy who wanted 1 CL26 angler... I was like, "Ok, what kind of stats do you want?"
Naturally, this is when I brace myself for the usual:
10-13k hams, armor, with 100% kinetic and energywith 500 damage or as high as you can make
Amazingly enough he was like, "well what is good"? I'm thinking:
/emote
Finally!!!! Someone who knows he doesnt know squat about a BE pet or the process in which it takes to make em.
Anyhow, fast forwarding about 45mins, we reach an agreement on the creature's stats.
I then brace myself yet again when I tell him my price will be 75k for what he wants.
This time he doesnt "disappoint" me.
"WHAT?! 75k? That is a lot of money... I dunno if I can get that much money"
I tell him if money is tight to just go tame a wild until he gets the money or he can try another BE... I mention Arthurdent (hehe sorry bro).
/pause 60
Him: "He isnt on"
Me: "Well, E-mail him and see what he might do for ya"
Him: "I want it now"
Me: "Well my price is 75k =) I also wont have it rdy for 1-3 days"
Him: "why so long?"
**I go into the spill how I have to hand collect all sorts of DNA, multi-gen sample, hope for no crit fails, thatI also have a RL bla bla bla bla**
Him: "ok, let me know when it is ready"
Me: "Cool. Last thing. I dont promise exact CLs. Only that I wont go over whatever is the max level you want"
Him: "ok."
**I should note that I spent about 1 1/2 hrs talking to this guy at this point**
I make a bad ass CL23 angler with 11k/9k/9k hams, 60% kinetic (no armor), .4 to-hit, 1.98 attack speed with ranged S. poison and intimidate and 490 damage
I tell him what I made via E-mail feeling that he is going to love this pet (I know I was loving it).
Him: "Level is kinda low... Is it red?"
Me: "I told you I wasnt promising an exact CL. Usually people want their pets as low as they can get em"
Him: "Is it red"
Me: "You never told me what color you wanted it... Let me look at it... It has red legs..."
/pause
Him: "I wanted it red"
Me: "I have a cl25 red angler on me (one of the multi gen clones that survived 6 needle pokes)"
Him "what are the stats?"
**I proceed to tell him the stats and let him know they arent as good as the CL23 clone**
Him: "I'll take it"
/self boogle
/self pullhair
**takes down MBE title and swears not to put it back up**

Armor-hole + increased offensive abilities * they will be slaughter no matter what even with armor= no armor for PvP

Hmm, I'm still really really curious about that ranged attack thingy. I suppose that if a creature like a voritor does acid damage (speculation) with its ranged attack then perhaps pets that we make with ranged attacks would do the same? If that were the case then perhaps that knowledge would be useful. If you had a pair of pets out for example you might have one that had excellent offensive capabilities and a range attack and another with strictly kinetic tanking abilities to engage whatever you were fighting. If what you were fighting had poor acidresists it would be toast very quickly.
That is one mean bunny
A ranged acid attacking pet with an "up close and personal" kinetic attacking pet could be a nice combo for a CH that doesnt otherwise have a lot of offensive skills of his own.
Add something like S. poison/intimidate on the kinetic tank...
Most of my orders though seem to place all the emphasis on the pets "tankability" rather then its offensive ability. In fact most people specifically dont want ranged on their pets... They just want it to hold aggro...
Nevertheless, it would be nice info to have. Maybe Nancy can squeeze that bit of info out of the DEVs![]()
