what about if people started harvesting their own steel and letting the shipwrigths make the ship w/ that steel? i think that would be an alternative to selling at 15 CPU.

I'll charge less if the customer provides the steel. the steel is about 1/3rd of the cost of making the ship. as for 15 cpu. i know some people are saying they charge that much here, but most will not charge so much I think. I'd only charge such prices if I used very expensive resources on the ship. But I'm not doing that. I'm saving the expensive resources for the components and using the cheap resources on the ships. And I think that is what most shipwrights will end up doing.

I meant also to add that it does depend on the servers. Different servers have different levels of inflaction in their economies....

Just use common sense on pricing. Don't price too low, or you are out of business. Price too high, and your competitors get all the business and reputation. Keep a YT1300 on your vendor at 10M and see what happens. I did...

5-10 cpu chassis is reasonable

30 cpu component is reasonable

it depends entirely on server economics......check the vendor list, a lot of BEs have their prices posted there so you can get a feel for the ballpark on your server.

An easy rule of thumb is to take the market value of the resouces used in each tissue and add a profit margin you feel comfortable with.

It doesn't make sense to sell a tissue for less than the value of the raw resources. You might as well just sell the resources outright and safe yourself the hassle of crafting.

Not too long ago (maybe a week or a few days more) there was already a thread on this, shouldn't be hard to find it.

Though this normally is a good rule of thumb of course, I'm not sticking to it. If I did (using a profit margin that would seem reasonable in RL) the tissues would be sold out in one day (on Infinity), leaving my vendor cleaned out and myself in a hurry to restock.

Prices are your own. Sell them for what you think is fair. Ask other BEs or check out vendors. Read the tissues FAQ clickied in my sig for some tips.

Just alittle anoyed on how people complain about spending 40k on a medical droid and dont mind spending 150k on a crate of canape's. Dont know if its been said before but a quick solution....

Make it so that only Master Droid Engenieers can make Batteries for Droids andnone of thedroids work without them(that way we can jack up the price onbatteries so we can make alittle money)

Anyways I'm new to the forums but not to the game i been a Droid engineer for a bit and would like to see DE make an equal amount to Armorsmith's and Chefs.

I think maybe if you did this and made Batteries hard to find i.e. Only a DE Vendor, even less people may use droids as they dont want the hassle of looking for the batteries.

I sell them for 15k a crate of 25 without any problems.

Whatever you can get people to pay.

There does seem to be a decent amount of variation between servers. What you may want to do is *shudder* spend a few minutes hanging out in Coronet, or Theed, and see what the starport spammers on your server are charging.

Most SSer smugglers I know charge 8-10K, actually, so 5K's probably a little low. Just think what these players are paying for buffs, a measly 3-hour increase, or for the weapons and armor itself, and your ethics about overcharging should fly gently out the window.
