overall:
toon CL
master BioE, which requires an investment of 121 skill points, gains a toon a base CL of 17. similar skill point investments offer a CL of 54 (BH, commando, smuggler, and SL)
armor cert (recon armor)
recon armor provides enhanced protection from energy attacks. while creature mobs can use energy attacks at range, a BioE spends most of their time in the field at melee range (kinetic attacks)
pre-requisites
the original documents indicated that BioE would require ONLY medic 0004… currently scout 0040 is also required
skill cost/benefit
currently, master BioE does not offer bonuses to assembly, experimentation, or medical schematics. with 29 fewer skill points spent, a 0404 BioE is as effective as a mBioE in all med-crafting, and in most remaining tissues
DNA
sampling is overly dangerous (based on CL) and increases in danger with increased skills
invalid stats on DNA
sorting
wild spawns
inconsistent... between build-zones and server up-time and random zone bugs
creatures
creatures do not show resists
creatures do not show special attacks
crafting:
med enhancers
high investment (resource/subcomponent requirements) for low effectiveness
doc enhancers primarily boost 'duration' (an 'enhancement' that isn't useful), while CM enhancers primarily boost 'effectiveness'
bacta infusion enhancer requires talusian scaley hide (found only on mites and dalyrakes, both low CL and wild-spawn only)
creature cloning
interference between old stats and values and new stats and values
crit fails destroy DNA
tailor tissues
available clothing favors SC over RFP enhancements (excluding ithorian clothing, there are 121 SC schematics to 24 RFP schematics… for wookiees, there is only one RFP schematic)
broken skillmods on tissues (need more feedback/testing)
secret research data

conversion:
tissues
existing tailor tissues did not convert, or did not convert properly, to new skills and values
petstims
converted to low power
SEA’s, etc
CM experimentation and assembly tapes do not work for BioE crafting
med experimentation and assembly SEA's are uncommon among veteran BioE's (and former CM's), and relatively common among former crafting doctors respec'ing to BioE
clones (both pets and deeds)
conversion process is VERY inconsistent, and yields either un-usable pets (prohibitively high CL), or worthless pets (low stats on conversion)
the devs offered feedback to some BioE issues on 5/02/05.
red notes indicate items addressed in p17 patch (now Live). more testing needed.
these issues have been forwarded to the devs. when they make more information available, I will update this list.

As a Tailor/Chef/Artisan took a consistent 441 damage PvE with or without the clothing.
Added novice marksman and novice brawler to my template and the exact same 441 damage was taken still.
1) 441 damage consistenly is suspicious.
2) either the calculateion is ignoring the mods or the mods are too low to have any effect.
I suspect that the damage formulas have some sort of cap - and I am so far below the creature (it was CL 9 and I was CL 1) that it is always doing the maximum damage... either that or the calc is just plain wrong.

Err no offence to you our honoured correspondent but you really need to put the pet issue more forcefully. I read your post twice and it still doesnt
come across as if the whole pet making thing is totally screwed, this is number 1 issue for BE in my opinion

it's also an issue that has been recognized by the devs. it's already been pushed, they're aware of it, and they're working on a fix.
I still want to know what the secret research data is. It was there when I dropped BE a year ago and its still there and no one has a clue what it does or if it wil ever do anything ![]()
Glad to be a Bio-Engineer again. It was my first Elite profession I mastered and that was back before ANY of the tissues worked. ![]()
