Thread: Yet again BE is screwed over...

Creature Handlers have made a bloody fortune in the past few days. Ready-to-go mounts are stillselling for 200k on my server in some cases. However, in the past few days I-a Master BE-have made about 150k total on mount sales. Why is this? Because everyone needs their mount NOW, they can't be bothered to wait a few days to grow their pet. Even though I sell for 20-30k-fractions of what ppl are selling ready-to-go mounts which are still 100-200k on the average-it's all about the speed. Most ppl have too much money these days, what's rare to them is time.

Of course it's always fun to just almost make a sale, and then have the person realize that BEed pets aren't fully grown or growth accelerated. And they say something like 'wow, I just assumed you guys could do something like that. It's commonsense.' Yes it is, so naturally we can't.

So once again the BE, the crafter, has been screwed over in favor of the fighter. The guy with little work, noheavy cash investment to get his skills, and no costs to produce his product.

Yes, the full grown pets are still hot. As are the cl10 bol and dewback which can be tamed in the wild. This is really par for the course.

I understand your frustration with Chs making all the money. I do not understand your complaint about the BE pest having to grow before they can be trained as mounts. The wild pets also have to grow before they can be trained as mounts. I don't see the problem here.

I think what he's saying or as I read it anyway, we can grow animals in our datapads just like everyone else can but we can't sell full grown trained mounts. Creature handlers have multiple slots to hold not only their personal pets but they can also grow mounts for sale. Bio-engineers, just like every non-creature handler out there has only 2 animals slots with the possibility of soon only having one slot. Makes it impossible to own a mount and sell grown animals at the same time.

I don't understand the problem, either. I'm making abloody fortune! Granted the CH's get more, but I can still get a very decent return on my investments by selling to them.

The problem is for us to sell grown pets we need to be part CH or have friends who are part CH, then the max number of growing pets we can have is 4. a 1/2/2/2/ CH can hold 10. We can't allow anythign besides Kaadu or Spats to grow in our pads unless they know the transfer command or if you plan to keep them.

not to mention people are still paying bottom dollar for babies. I can barly move Kaadu or spats at 5K each. If there is some big payday to mounts I certainly haven't seen it yet.

I guess I cannot understand your concern. I am a CH also and knew I could grow and sell mounts, but the numbers would really be low. Not worth the hastle. Also I have pets I don't want to delete to make room for this.

You can get all your petless friends to grow kaadus for you... I have not had an ounce of trouble getting MCH's to mount train them...

Let me stear you onto a bigger issue. At each CH CL plateau, we have nothing to sell. CH's laugh at what we have except the Gurreck and Rancor. Quite frankly, all MCH's own at least one of these, but prefer other pets.

A MCH can run 70 pet levels. Graul Maulers, CL 34. A MCH can run 2 of them and solo about anything in the game. If he runs a Rancor, CL 50, what does he run with it? A Kusak? nope.

Trust me guys, this is the BIG issue. .... DEV has said nothing to indicate they will fix this.

We don't sell 10 percent of the pets that CH's use... that is the issue.

I guess it boils down to where you put yourself in the SWG economy. Do you want to work for a creature handler or would you rather be the creature handler? There is no right or wrong answer to this either.

If you enjoy making animals and money is not a motivation for you then by all means get out there and sample those critters, harvest that flora andget that meat.Sell those pet deeds to creature handlers by the pack load. You'll make good money but not nearly as much as the creature handler since full grown trained mounts are worth more.

If you enjoy making a lot of money selling a product that takes little or no effort then creature handler is for you. If you have empathy 4 you're home free. Buy as many pet deeds as you can get your hands on and stagger the growth of them in your datapad slots. In no time you'll be selling full grown, trained mounts. Replace the animal in your datapad with another deed as soon as you sell it. Easy money!

Here's the rub - A creature handler gets to supplement this income by allocating a few of their slots to animals they've tamed in the wild such as a lesser dewback or bol. The BE gets none of this money. Its total profit for the creature handler.

You have to decide where you want to fit into this equation...and whether you're being screwed.

I hear what you are saying... but I see many people thinking about peanuts when they could be thinking bushels. All of the money you can make selling full grown pets under the best of conditions as a CH is peanuts. If most of the CH's actually used our pets.... that is BUSHELS.

same coneren that allways been there only worse. We make be mounted pets once they tamed. Now how can we charge even close to what CH get? We can't! We sell deeds. This isn't about the BE/CH combo it about BE. This is something that allways been, just got worse when all can have mounts. To me to look at BE it is two steps. The creation, the selling. BE is a crafter class. That is it. We can sell by standing on a street corner or like other crafter classes take up merchant. The other selling is taking up the CH mold for the full service. Make them, grow them, sell them. If you are interested in just selling pets, be a CH. Have zero coin investment on the end product to make so any return is pure profit.

I do not nor will not sell a deed at high enough price that the CH are selling ther pets for. Long ago I made the Kaadus and spats for those in allaince and had them grow in there data till mounts came. They are all set and of course many wanted the new critters they put in for this purpose. So they even made out. They got another new mount, sold the other one for a killing. You know what? It don't matter. I have nothing I care to spend my creds I have on except now insurance and new outfits as I destroy my current one. Relax and don't be conerend about things we can't do nothing about and have fun with the trade.

As an MCH almost MBE I have to say that I have not found this to be true. In fact I find that 2 Grauls Maulers on an advanced planet to be one of the quickest ways to die. Stupid things run the minute there scratched, usually into a pack of aggros. You can't pull them back into your datapad, you can't get them out of the fight they are in and you can'r pull anything else for protection. Personally I tend to fight with two Mountain Squills (also CL34) they may not have as high a set of resists but they don't run and thats the difference between a live and a dead MCH. I'd also like to point out that many high level mobs (rancor, nightsisters, dark stormtroopers, kimos, krayt dragons, high level tuskens, ...) take me to piece if I'm dumb enough to try and solo them (With either pet combination). I've seen BH's solo said mobs but a straight MCH isn't going to be able to. Our pets just don't do much dammage. I cando more dammage with my DX2 pistol than both pets combined and I can only engage two opponents with my pets which means number 3 has me a tasty snack if I'm dumb enough to fire.
