Thread: There are 20 stats on a DNA template yet only 2 matters....
I want it with light armor and high Kinetics.
Some also looks for energy resists but all in all, if you make a high kinetics, armored pet you know you'r going to sell it.
Which makes the DNA hunt limited to what, 10 mobs out of 500 in the game?
I wish animal would use acid / blast / energy / whatever more often. would makes our job a little less repetitive, would make us actually try a lot more, and all in all, would make the game more balanced as citters would be harders to tanks.
Yersteday I found out that turtons were immune to stunt, I thought cool then I asked a few MCH friends if they actually cared about stunt. 3 out of 4 said no, kin / armor, thanks.
Just a thought.
What you're seeing is a reflection of the fact that most CH's don't do PvP due to their lack of high level combat skills. If they wanted a PvP pet, their requirements would be quite different.
As to having mobs use different types of attacks, please. Just imagine if it was you who had to set up a camp in order to pull out a different pet because that Torton you wanted to take down used an acid based attack. ![]()
The flaw lies in the fact that most NPCs when approached by a melee mob will atually be dumb and go into melee mode themselves. The exception to that rule is stormtroopers who will actually do the smart thing and kite the mob with their gun.
Those two are most important, but after that energy/stun/heat/electricity in a combo are also very wanted by any CH who takes on FS mobs or other npc's.
Health and specials are also important, as an MCH I prefer strong poison. They land it a lot and it's a decent dot.
I want a stable with two cl34-35 with high kinetic and armor, a single CL70 with high kinetic and armor
A pair of high resists heat/energy/elect/stun/blst armor not important because all the weapons using those are ar1 piercing anyway, and a single CL70 or close with same resists close to 100 as possible.
Thats a fighting set of 6 pets that can cover most circumstances, after that it's mostly novelties and mounts.
I've been selling a lot of heat resist creatures to pvp'ers. And they do care about specials. Krayt hunters have asked for high kinetic and stun and light armor (and boy, is that a bear to achieve).
But yeah, I would be very happy for some creatures with skills beyond kinetic. I've gone on long sampling trips to teh four corners of Dathomir and Endor, and there are still only9 creatures I care about sampling for useful pets. Its only when people ask for odd combinations that I look further.
This is exactly what I was thinking.Merek Harvestors is what I get to make high kinetic pets.. pets made with that DNA outsell 10 to 1.
I can make really nice pets that are not nessesarily kinetic tanks and I am proud to make them, but its no fun if I make them any nobody buys them.
Anyone else is annoyed to see always the same requirement from CH?
I want it with light armor and high Kinetics
Dont forget good HAM. This is what we want because this is all that really matters.
Thats how it always is. Its not just the BE profession. Weaponsmiths are required to make good dmg weapons with good speed and as little HAM costs as possible. Armorsmiths are required to make armor with the best resists and least HAM encumbrance as possible. Architects are required to make harvesters with as high extraction rates as possible. Docs are required to make good buffs that last long. Chefs food that lasts as long as possible with good stat buffs. Smugglers good spices that have good stat buffs and Molecular clamps so they never fail a slice attempt.
BEs are no different. We want pets with light armor, good ham, and as high kinetic resist as possible with the CL required by the customer. Those that can fill the needs of the customer will get paid. Those that cant, wont get paid.
This isnt anything new.

Nope, flawed logic. In all the things you listed as people looking for as good qualities in an item, you list ALL the variables of that item. Of COURSE people want strong/fast/low HAM cost guns, those are all three stats a Weaponsmtih can improve. Same can be said about anything else you posted about. However in pets, you have people looking for HAM, armor, and kinetic resist about 80% of the time... that being a somewhat narrow section of variables that we can effect as BE's. It's quite different.
I would love to see NPC's and creatures... especially creatures... use more damage types. I want to seecu pas thatspit acid damage, a big torton stomp on me for stun damage, a sulpher mynock's breath causing heat damage... more variety in mobs would definitely be a good thing. As it is now, it's most just same thing, different body.
