Thread: Best creatures to kill for meat?

All creatures of the same level drop the same quantity of resources, regardless of planet, species, etc.
What's the highest level creature that you find you can kill quickly? There's your best meat source, if quantity over time is all that matters. Big herbivorous things that don't deathblow or swarm you ina pack are probably a good starting point, as trips to the cloning center will hurt your "meat over time" ratio in a big way.
I'd also echo what someone else said above, if you need the meat for grinding. Hunt and harvest whatever meat is fetching a huge premium (e.g., HQ Naboo avian meat going for 40 cpu on my server currently), sell it, and then use the proceeds to buy a much larger quantity of junk meat off the bazaar.

Can anyone suggest some creatures to hunt with the best meat drop rates? I am aware rancors are a good source, but would like some other not-so-dangerous suggestions. Thanks in advance.

are you talking larger volume of meat or best to kill for good meat? You can probably hunt for good quality meat, sell it for a high cpu and buy grinding quality meat if that is what you want. Check swgcraft.com for current resource quality.
Besides that, try Kimogilas for meat

Just looking for quantity at this point. I'm master TKA too, so things die fairly quickly. But I don't always feel like having to get buffed and enter dangerous territory to hunt, so I'm hoping there's something worthwhile out there that I can hunt without having to constantly watch my back.

Well good old naff give about 100 per if you have hunting 4. As a MTKA that should take you about 3 or 4 secs to kill.

If you are TKM I would recommend just running the rancor missions on Dathomir. I'm not sure how much they drop at a time, (thinking about 150units) but I have about 10,000 units of meat from running around 10 lairs and killing various creatures.

Savage Quenkers are my choice for meatiness. They have a few advantages.
I can easily solo them without buffs/food. This reduces my costs and time (finding a doc is a pain sometimes).
They drop 60-75ish meat, at Hunting 4 - which for three attacks isn't bad.
They also double as convenient for grinding my other aspiring combat skills.
Buffed, I'd say rancors. They have nice meatload and aren't very terrible.

enraged bull rancors, pulled a lil over 7 k in a hr with just me and another guy and i was the only one harvesting. about 220 a harvest for lv 4 hunting. team make up 1 mcm/ 4 0 4 4 tka, me master medic/doc 3 0 0 3 rilfe/ 0 0 2 1 be, and a lv 10 gurrek with 3 k ham, took them down no problems

Thanks for the input folks.
Like I said, I don't usually feel like finding a doctor to buff me, so while I knowrancors drop loads of meats, theyaren't always ideal.
I did try doing some fambaa missions near my home on Naboo, and the first lair dropped about 100 meat per kill, but after than I only got skinny fambaas, which dropped roughly 50 per. But they also have about 85 units of milk per kill. So I am thinking pikets are going to be my harvested creature of choice since they too have milk, and drop a decent quantity of meat.

find your self a ranger, they harvest 2x what i do at lv 4 hunting
