There is way too many to list, and my list would change from month to month anyway as I go through new fads, lol, but my latest, bestest buddy is the thune heard leader. Great because it has good kinetic, energy, armor, and nuttin else! Provides a great "base" to make outsanding pve tanks. They have historically been challenging to find (for me) but in recent months I've run into them pretty frequently about 1km - 2km due south of the imp outpost on Dantooine.

Just depends on what your trying to make. Slinking Voritor Hunters are nice and can be gotten from mission. So youcan sample and make cash at the same time.

Merek Death's Head: Strong Poison/Strong Disease (for those customers who want them), and perhaps the highest damage/power for level of any pet I've found with no vulnerabilities except lightsaber. Biggest problem is that they only have 10% resists across the board, but they do have light armor and fair stats, so they sometimes help in generational clones to beef up the damage without raising the CL too high. Found in the mountains NW of Mining Outpost on Endor.

I concur. You can get thune missions off the terminals on Dantooine, but you need to solo group to get them. At least I do--I'm a MR/MBE and I'm usually wearing a duster and pants instead of armor, and would rather sample unbuffed when I can (read--for anything except MR). Each thune lair will have 2-3 herd leaders. I haven't had the success I thought I would combining them with the 65/65 300ish fortitude types (grassland voritor tracker, prowling gurreck, etc.) that I thought I would. I still dream to one day make the AR1 60/60 CL 35 pet...perhaps I delude myself.

One of my faves, also on Dantooine, is the quenker relic reaper ( http://www.swgcreatures.com/detail.asp?creatureID=276). Very nice kinetic/energy resists and a nice blind/intimidation special combo. Good for the aggression slot on CL 35 pets.

As I mentioned in a post recently, if anyone ever sees a gronda juggernaut, please do us all a favor and post the WP and time of day...

Try adding a pinch of Bark Mite Burrower Queen to your combine... they make everything better

Yes, the one time I had half a dozen samples I did good stuff with it--but it's so hard to come by, alas.

I thought maybe we could get a list going of good critters to sample from and where to find them. I'll start...

Endor: Bark Mite Burrowers / Bark Mite Burrower Queens (AR1 60-65% kin , good resists across the board) Found WNW of Smugglers Outpost ; Merek Harvester (AR1 75% kin) N and NW of Smugglers Outpost

Dathomir: Young Malclok Plainswalker (AR1 65%kin) S and SW of Force Village ; Bull Rancor / Mutant Rancor / Nightsister Rancor (AR1 , good kin resist , high power/aggro) NW region of Dathomir

Dantooine: Frenzied Graul / Ancient Graul (AR1 good kin resist , High power/aggro) NW and WNW region of Dant

Anyone else? (=

Dathomir:
Rancor (plain version. Stun/Intimidation and 30% kinetic makes it a good DNA to go with MHs)
Singing Mountain Clan Rancor (again, Intimidation. But these would go better with MRs)

Endor:
Delirious Merek Avenger (Triplets with light armor can be made from 2nd generation of these, also I use these to cancel out resistances)

Corellia:
Corellian Butterfly Defender (only used to cancel resistance out)

= Moenia, Naboo =

My favorite is the mire marauder. Although he's hard to find I think the search is worth it. High power/fortitude, good resistance make this good samples for creating lvl 35 pets...

Now I'm jealous. I've never been able to get thune missions no matter what group I'm in. =( I used to try about three times a week then after a month I just started flying around looking for them. Maybe the server just didn't like me. Or maybe they were just bugged. I'll have to try again sometime.

As for what samples I like? Sevorrt, Nightspider. My favorite is BMBQ. I used to sample them just to look at the pretty numbers. Arachne Queen and Widow are nice too. The queen can give a nice HAM boost, and the widow can have lots of damage in it. One oddball I like to use is the wild dune boar from Tatooine. These I find about dead center of the map. They can lend a nice intimidate to a twin pet.

Locations.
BMBQ from NW or due South of the smugglers outpost.
Arachne Queen from S to SE of the Science outpost.

I'd really like to try to find some of these, but the wierd thing is that I spend the first couple of months when I first started in SWG on Talus, and my PA is on Talus now, and I visit there frequently, and I have never ever seen one of these. Any hints on where you generally find them?

srry forgot to mention. SE of Dearic there's a swamp (a small whiter part on the world map). Hop off your speeder (i've never seen one while on my speeder or mount) and walk through the whole swamp. I've only seen one at a time and it respawns in 20-30 minutes when you KILL it. It seems to me that creatures spawn less frequently when sampled to death. So take 3 samples then shoot it (don't know if you have combat abilities cuz they are quite hard) and wait a bit (there's a reb base on my server, don't know about the other server, if there is and you're a reb it can act as a safe haven).

Some days you'll find him there other days you can run around for hours without ever seeing one. But mostly i find one every other day.
