I was just wondering if any BEs out there were selling DNA on a vendor? If so what kind of pricing scheme do you use? PErsonally I think it might be a lucrative operation for a BE/Combat crossover. that way BEs who are BE/Doc or BE/Tailor wouldn't have to risk 4 to 5 deaths when looking for mutant Rancor DNA.

I tried selling individual samples on my vendor, but none of them sold. I was using a scheme like this.

Above average - CL X 25

High Quality - CL X 30

Very High Quality - CL X 50

Maybe that's just too much.

I don't think that would be too much -- when you consider it takes 5 dna samples to make a single pet (assuming there are no critical failures), it would cost around 3125 credits to buy enough above average dna from a lower-mid-level creature (like a GSP) to craft a creature. If you were to make a CL 20 pet from that dna you could sell it (if you're a CH) fully trained for about 20k. Even if you're not a CH, you could probably get 10k for the deed.

Seems like a good deal. But what I've noticed is that there are very few BE's willing to sell DNA. For a while, I was trying to gather a decent amount of average DNA to experiment with the possibility of running DNA templates off a factory. I couldn't find a BE willing to sell. So maybe they didn't sell because most BE's don't think there's any place to buy them.

I've considered selling DNA, or taking orders for DNA. Having Ranger/Pistoleer helps me find creatures and get out of some sticky situations.

Actually those prices seem quite reasonable. I'd be willing to buy samples of the creatures I want at those prices. The problem would seem to be on of advertising and demand. You would need to pick the correct DNA (Mutant Rancor, Bull Rancor, Frenzied Graul, Ancient Graul, bark mite burrower queen and mereks death head should all sell well if you get the word out.)

I love the idea of selling dna i tried just the other day to buy some from master bio i just wanted to crafta good creature for once since im only 0-0-2-1. He wouldnt sell forgot why said right when he gets his dna he crafts with it so he didnt have any! but o well if anyone sold dna on LOWCA i would buy since i have a little cash left over from selling holocron!

I have a standing deal with an MBE on Ahazi for Mutant DNA:

AA - 50k

HQ - 60k

VHQ - 70k

it's a nice little earner

I think the only market for DNA would be for the really hard to get samples that a MBE wouldn't be able to get a backpack full of, like Mutant Rancor. I'm going to get a backpack full of that stuff and see how well it sells on my vendors.

Well IF I had an order for a spefic pet I would prolly check a dna vendor first to see if there was anything that I needed. Espessaly at those prices. it would save me a bunch in trip costs and then incress my profit margin. Now if I am looking to just restock my pet vendor I would not because it would cost me about 10k roughly (Tat to Dant and back) for108(full pack + full inventory -2 for return tickets) samples VHQ and some time. Now 50 VHQ from your vendor would cost me 20000. If you have a spare vendor it may not be a bad idea to try it out for a month and be sure to advertise on the Trade forums. BUt one thing is for sure If i get some one comming to me with your DNA to make a pet with it. I am in no way going to help that player. So I would prolly stop by your vendor from time to time. But I would expect most BEs would not agree that makeing a for a player who brought dna from your vendor. Now this would aslo open up to possablity to let other players chose what dna they want to have you make there pet out of. they by the DNA they want from your vendor then sell it back for a cred each for you to use that in a pet.It could be Lars-Ala-Cart Pets.
