Thread: Customers Flaming me for Pre CU BE Pet Sales after CU
I personally pulled all my pets off my g/fs vendors as soon as I could...and I will not be selling them until the Devs have fixed the conversion process.
I would suggest that where possible you refund the pets that were bought PostCURB, but refuse to refund those sold PreCURB.
I would also suggest that you work out a standardardised email for customers if this is happening a lot. Ultimately it isn't your fault that the pets don't work Post CURB, but then...if they were bought Post CURB, you left them on the vendors...
If they get rude and say you should have known about this, ask them if they knew exactly what stats their VK or T21 would come out after the CURB?
I've sold a LOT of pre-CU pets in the past couple of days. I haven't gotten a single complaint yet....not about the pets.
My Tailor friend got jumped by a couple BE's because he's selling clothing with the new melee/ranged def for 100k/tissue. And they're crappy +13s...I didn't have any real good milk in quanity on-hand. And since he's the only tailor with it, he's making a killing![]()
I had3 people buy over 5 pets each. The most pets sold in two days. I did warn them about any pet they purchased with armor.
But I haven't gotten any hate/flame emails or tells, from any of my customers. Of course as soon as the CU went live I sent out an email to my friends list and guild... Giving a warning about the conversion of pets.. AR1 to lvl 150-200 and such. From what I can tell I saved many beloved pets from being sent away in the wild.
I am currently in the process of pulling pre curb pets and placing a disclaimer on them. Just finished one vendor.. now working on the second vendor.
Luckily I had sold out of most of my questionable non chs.. and have on my vendor now ones which have been tested and tamed and works in the post curb order.
***fingers crossed... no whammies no whammies... come on big bucks***
LOL
I pulled all my pet deeds when I got a Pet Validty check on my own pets. Then I tested many of my existing deeds with my MCH IG hubby and found a formula that worked 99% of the tme. I put a disclaimer in the description on the vendor when I relisted them. I also added this info to the read me on my vendors.
For CH pets without armor and CL 45 and under I suggest that customers take the Adjust Level option if they feel they have to buy and use a Pre-CU crafted deed. Testing various deeds of this type we found that pets received between 2 to 24 levels added. Stats remained the same. Specials reamin but are not trainable. Ranged remains and is trainable. I only have a couple pets on my vendors now - more as an instructional example. Most CHs come to the house and look through all the pets sitting out and pick a pet.
I don't put CH pets with armor on the vendors. We did find that these pets are riskier to convert. If you have to tame/use a pet with armor, adjusting the level will put it well over CL100. Most have come out in the CL222 range. Taking the Adjust Stat option caues the Health to be lowered by 60-65%. The resists become the same as the new resists we are seeing on the current DNA samples. The resists turn up on all stats but LS. Damage also changes to the new range method (e.g., 45-240). In some cases the damage has gone down and in some cases the damage has gone up.
In most instances of Pre-CU CH pet deeds being tamed, the validity check does not come up upon taming. The pet is tamed and stored and the pet check happens the first time the pet is called after being stored.
Non-CH pets with HAM of 5k/2-3k/1-2k have converted successfully without a pet check. I have not had any pet checks with the ones in my datapad. Stats remained the same however specials are not trainable.
Another interesting thing happened with Non-CH Pre-CU pets tamed yesterday, when they are tamed they are also fully trained. No need to have a CH train the pet. A CH is needed to name the pet and I would believe to train as mount but am unsure on this as we did not test any mountable pets.
In my description on the vendor I put all the information gleaned from our testing. I also state that there is no guarantee that this will not change and that the buyer must be willing to take the risk as there are no refunds.
I have not tested the Post-CU Non-CH pets but have not heard any negative feedback from customers as yet.
I sold a ton of 10's and have yet to receive a single email. Of the pre curb pets I sold, only two of them were caught by the validity check that I know of. I've seen CL10's with 50 kinetic and 9K health get declared invalid. I've seen CL10's with 54 kinetic and 10K health go completely unchanged.
It is impossible to predict which animals are declared invalid and which are not based on what I've seen. In that light I'd be reluctant to refund credits. I might, however, craft a new post curb animal for them at no charge. There are some new recipes available already which I've tried out. They don't compare to the pre curb animals but they're better than nothing at all.
Put a sign up in your shop reading
Please CS ticket and /bug your petand stim nerfs they have broken all of them.
and take them all off the vendor
Then go have a beer and watch a movie, "National Treasure" came out today on DVD
That's just my suggestion though

I have a level 170 (originally 22) Gurrcat I made with AR1 and 45 kinetic. I picked up CH during the respec to see what would happen if I tamed it...hah! Maybe if they get around to fixing existing pets, I'll sell it, but it looks kinda cool in my Datapad now
I've had a diclaimer up on my vendor for a month now saying I have no idea what will happen in the CU, if you buy a pet its at your own risk...
Once i saw the nasty stuff happeingin , i pulled down all my pets and just deleted them, (crys over all that wasted SMC/NS/Mutant rancor DNA)
I haven't recieved a single complaint.
As for the pets I would look at the ituation, a CH who bought a decent pet fopr his skill, they will be a return customer, so I would make amends somehow, partial refund or a promise to make them a new pet at a discount.
A non ch , pet, yeah we know the VD/HP monstrosouties that were out there, that we ALL KNEW were going to convert ...well in my opinon if you made them, and they bought them, they knew damn well those stats were too high for a Level 10 pet, they had their fun exploiting while it lasted and they got their moneys worth.

psst....
They still work. Most of them anyway. ![]()
