I previously made a set of crafting stations (before getting Master Artisan) without adding any of the optional extras. Having got Master Artisan
I decided to make a station with all the optional extras, however having completed the station I can see no difference
in it's operation.
What advantage do the extras give? ie Control Unit, Micro Sensor Suite & Storage Compartment.
cheers

They allow the station to have a higher rated that is affected by the quality of the electronics used in its construction. Supposely this has an effect on experimentation effectiveness similar too cities with research centers or bespin port. Since experimentation is highly varable, many question if these things have any effect at all on experimentation. In my own experiences it is a hit or miss with the amazings, either you get a lot, or none at all. I think those things work some of the time, when loaded properly, and then you get those amazing results all at once.

I *think* the droid storage compartments allow you to havehopper storage on the station. I could be wrong though.

I know that I need a crafting station to make certain BE items and creatures. My question is... what does a crafting station add to your crafting chances?
My station has an effectivness rating of 40.956436. What does this mean if anything at all? If it adds to my abilities/chances of crafting better items, what is the highest effectivness I can get and how much more would it help?

Highest available is (I think) +45, but the Devs said somewhere that anything above +0.0 is good enough and that extra bonuses don't seem to make a difference.
I haven't seen any empirical evidence to the contrary, so I stick with my +16s...

The highest is 45.0 the Devs said anything over 0 gave a bonus to crafting and adroid is like a 0 crafting station. That being said I haven't noticed much difference using a 45.0 crafting station and a 15.00 crafting tool.

Ok, ive only been in SWG for a little over a month, so still new to the game. Ive been a 11point architect preety much since the beginning, and ill admit, im frustrated in trying to craft stations @ about 13.75%. I have been able to experiment on them and after two amazings in a row, get them to 95%. Im using droid storage compartments, and the top of the line electronics (+1) The crafting tool im using is 14.97, and the station im using is 44.5. My copper is Conductivity 979. So what am I missing. Getting 13 out of a possible 45 is wearing thin. Im also a master artisan, so ive made the electronics myself, so the only mystery would be the quality of the droid storage boxes, but im not sure if quality matters on that component. Any help is appreciated

i've had the same problem.i was trying to make a good station and the highest i got was 13%. my husband is a master artisan and respeced into novice architect. he got +35. i'm sure if the components had been better he could've gotten +40. don't understand it. he gets more experimentation points. i got like 5 i think , and he had a full set of 11.

Crafting stations use artisan experimentation points. If you're not 4400 artisan or a master then you won't be able to make good stations.

To get a maximum rating you need to use all of the optional parts and they all need to be made with the best materials and all experimented as high as possible.
Ignore the rating on the optional parts (that +1 means nothing to us) and just focus on the experiment % for each. I'd shoot for resources in the 950-1000 range for the stats. Get as high as you can find. Then each part needs to be experimented up to the 90-99% range. If you aren't making the parts yourself make sure the person doing it is experimenting as high as possible with high quality materials.
Any parts below average will REDUCE your stations final rating. e.g. a 22% DSC will reduce your station rating by about -3 points.
This is also in the FAQ, see link in my sig.
