Thread: KD/Dizzy pets? In demand?
If anyone on Eclipse offers pets like this plz send ingame e'mail to cowpoke
In my mind, the kd/dizzy and dizzy/crippling strike combos are really only good for PvP pets. If you can get your pet to land one of those combos, your opponent is in for a world of hurt.
On the PvE front, knockdowns, posture changes and dizzy states by your pet don't have much of an affect and rarely stick. The dizzy might be good to land if you have a strong knockdown move on your own, but it doesn't seem to work that often.
In my mind, for PvE, it's all about damage taken and damage given. Having specials like intimidate and stun, or perhaps blind, are good because they prevent the mob from attacking you and your pet as much. Those are on the damage taken side. On the damage given side, poison and disease are good because they hit your target for extra damage, poison being the better of the two. A pet with strong poison and intimidate (or stun or blind) would be a good PvE pet.
PvP is not the only place it is useful, as it works wonders on primarily kinetic creature opponents that rely on posture for their attacks. If a player uses a KD and I can use my pet's dizzy to keep the mob down, the battle is over. Any mission against humanoid opponents is very much easier with a KD/Dizzy combination.
I am making pets with this combination by request, but I am informing my customers that it is broken atm. Some elect to believe it will be fixed in the future and go with it, others decide to go stun/dizzy or cripple/dizzy, which also make good combinations.
BTW, if you are looking for good DNA to work in with the KD/Dizzy combination into mid-level pets, Ravenous Tortons on Rori are a great source.

If you really want to make strong PvP pets, start harvesting bloodseeker mite ("BSM") orBSM Hunter DNA on Endor. Go to the desert north of the smuggler outpost (and usually north of the battlefield) to find them. They both have a dizzy/crippling strike combo with ranged attack. The regular bloodseeker has100% resists to heat, acid and electricity.Basically, kinetic and stun damageare their achille's heal, but you canmix BSM Hunter DNA in with the normal BSM DNA to get resists to all but blast and cold.
For non-ch PvE pets, I like anglers. They have 10% resists to all but stun and they have a strong poison/intimidate combo. Really easy to turn these into level 10 pets with some decent across the board resists and nice specials.
The arachnes (venon-filled arachnes, arachne warriors, webmasters and widows) are also good, with the strong poison and blind or stunplus REALLY nice resists. Other PvE possibilities include the toxic merek battlelord and the spitting rawl. All of these creatureshave strong poison mixed in with stun or blind. The problem is that they all take some refinement to get down to level 10.Makinggreat triplets or doubles pets is much easier, though.
Ok, thanks again Trost....
Anyway, I have made the angler non-ch pets, too and they were popular....However, I'm asking about KD/Dizzy CH pets here. ![]()

Well, as was stated previously, the KD move for creatures isn't working. That's why I gave you the suggestion of bloodseeker mites and bloodseeker mite hunters. Crippling strike is a posture change move. When combined with dizzy, this is, in effect, the only way to knock down an opponent with a pet. With the high resists on the BSM and BSM hunter, you can make great mid-level CH pets. Much better pets than using the ravenous tortons, IMHO.
Now, if you want to stick with the non-functional KD/dizzy combo, feel free. I'm just telling you what my experiences have been and giving you the DNA types I like to use. ![]()
