Thread: Slap in the Face

I am one skill away from master dancer, and considering droping it completely. The final straw for me was the entertainer missions, the payout for my time and effort was a slap in the face. Dancers tend to get alot of mouth from other classes about being lazy and not doing missions, and here I thought my hard work was finally going to pay off. 180 credits is a slap in the face, even if the mission was in town never mind the 110 shuttle ticket.

I agree 100 percent. What the heck are they thinking? Whoever is in charge of making decisions about dancers should be fired or at least brought alone into a room with severalenraged dancers. Those payoff are the worse i've seen in the game. I believe they are even worse then first level delivery missions and you have to go even farther to complete them. Its a cruel joke.

I'm hoping this was a patch day mistake. But even if they add a zero to those numbers they aren't worth it. Traveling all that distance to get only between 1k and 2k of cr is hardly worth the effort. Or are we suppose to do it because we just love to dance and don't care about earnilng a living. Maybe there is something I just don't understand. Fire the jerk who is making these decision. I'm getting very sick of this.

And while i'm at it the new flourishes suck.

I posted this on my home server board, but thought it really needed to be said here.

I really want to remark on this, for it is just so outrageous of SOE to place new entertainer terminals with such ridiculous missions.

First of all I am a Master Dancer. I spent many hours, days and weeks achieving this. I have never afk danced, nor macro'd anything more then flourish 1-8. I am very proud to be a Master Dancer is Kaadara. When swg started there were only 4 or 5 of us who spent all our time there healing all your battle fatigue.

We did it with smiles and kind words, no matter how tired we were of doing the same old dance over and over again. We cared for each and every one of you that came into our little cantina. We stayed and danced even when hours went by and no one came in to say hello to. When we thought boredom itself would kill us off, we stayed and danced.

Now as a Master Dancer, we are blessed with our own missions. The highest payed mission I could receive today is 210 credits. Traveling 1234m to the west, to dance for some animals? Is this a joke?

So, to show my enthusiasm I accepted this mission. Ran 1234m to the west, whipped out my FWG5 and blew the heads off all the animals in sight. Plus a random NPC, whom I lost townspeople faction with. (Ooops seems faction is fixed)

Oh, the other mission forminimal credits was to go dance in the Kaad cantina. Where as soon as I entered am immediately invited into the entertainer group. Danced for 10minutes and everyone in my group got 27 credits.

So, why the heavens did I ever waste all that time to become a Master Dancer. Why in heavens would I ever spend anymore time in a cantina dancing. The tips are nice, when they are given.(On average one ineight tip.) The people are wonderful, when they are there and appreciate the dancers. The new flourishes look like a geriatric, raver with arthritis.

And if you say Dancers don't need money? Have you priced how much our outfits cost, so we can look nice for those that have to sit there and watch us to heal. My wardrobe has cost me well over 200k. Luckily I started this game with a close knit group of friends, and took up pistoleer early.

So, now I am a "former" Master Dancer. Working on becoming a Gunslinger. The missions pay better, and I don't have to dance for animals.

Oh man...I am laughing but I share the feeling. That is too funny. I wanted to rip the terminal out of the cement and smashit to bits, but killing the mission NPCs would have been quite satisfying.

I think these entertainer missions should be like the destroy missions. The price goes up as your skill goes up. As master dancers, our payout should be much more. This is why so many master performers hang up their dancing shoes and go to the combat field!

ROFL! Ok, I was kind of down this morning but now I'm chuckling enough to make my side hurt

LoraJ has the right idea - entertainer mission payouts should go up with skill. I looked over the terminal last night and did the math - if I took 2 missions, shuttled to Mos Espa, took 2 more and shuttled back, I would end up with a whopping 200cr profit after shuttle expenses.

Wow. I'm fortunate, I've made an alternate source of income for myself by using my fists on helpless furry creatures. But if I had no combat skill, I think I'd be very tempted to give up the game right now. They've just moved mission viability from a method of helping newbies up to a way for high levels to kill time. Non-combat classes need not apply.

Argggh!! I couldn't agree more! This is an insult. I think it's time for the entertainers to go on strike.

Get the developers to threaten toadd a 15% service charge for every heal. That will get the punters tipping.

I like the game as it is on the lower dancerlevels - poor pay is true to life for the average dancer, but a world-renowned dancer (a master) should be paid top-of-the-line professional rates.

I say we go on strike by dancing in underwear only, whining incessantlyabout tips, and sneering at the customers! That'll get their attention. Better yet, we could just hire a couple ofbouncers for each Cantina- anyone who doesn't tip gets booted out on his arse before he's healed!

Since June 2004, running one of the game's first completely nonviolent characters. Testing the limits of non-combat MMORPG play and trying to have fun into the bargain (although the developers make it difficult).

Combat is no longer compulsory.

how do you know they are not tipping some one else and not watching you? I now for a fact that when I go into a cantina there are some times 4 or 5 dancers. Are you saying I should tip each one about 1000 credits even though I only watch one of them. That is a bunch of crap I will pay the one I am watching and the rest I am sorry I can only watch so much and I think 1000 credits for 100 bf is more then fair. That is 10 credits for every one bf so stop your complaining. Plus for thoughs of you who are upset about the pay outs for your missions go look at some of the delivery missons. They pay about 354 credits but the ticket off planet is about 1700 credits. Ok some of you made 80 credits in profit ok that profit but I lost 1300 credits when I was completeing that mission. Why you might ask well because I heard to become a Jedi you can not abort or fail a mission. So stop your complaining about mission pay outs. Plus I think that dancing is a very good proffesion and without it there is no way anyone would be able to fight.

Ok listen Beery.. guess you haven't worked yer tail off to become a Master Dancer.

We have put up with so much crap to dance for your battle fatigue. Guess what, not all of us shout for tips..dance naked.. want to cyber you.

Yes, you don't get tipped for being whom you are.. You can get good missions.

We on the other hand, rely solely on the tips of nice people.

Imagine playing yer character for eight hours and not knowing if you can buy the 16k outfit you really want.

No, don't imagine that. You can get 2k missions every 15 minutes.. Yer assured of it.

Get the Hell off our boards... you know of not what you speak!

If you want to have a good laugh, visit the Bounty Hunter Board. Some people are complaining that with the new Mission Terminals for everyone, they lost their elite status for bounty missions. They feel belittled because now we can do our ownmissions, too. Roflmao. I feel so uber for having completed 10 minutes of my dancing to get 100cr, I think I'll make a Combat Dancer and go for a BH massacre...

Missions are a joke. I spentan hour doing delivery missions for the 5000cr to become Novice Dancer. I don't want to know how long this would take for entertainer missions. Half a year ?

i spent 2 days doing 1st level delivery missions to get the money to level in image designing and dancing. I have gotten tipped maybe 500 credits in the last month {real time} i think im going to go tailor this is just to ridicoulus. You can either spend 10 minutes on entertainment missions earning 100 credits or go on a first level deliverymission... blah

Bump. I agree. Slap in the face. When I need money I have to do else things. That is not enough to get food half of the time. And we have to spend 10 minutes on it. Destory missions take that long and are like 1k. Anyways. Who wants to run to the next town just to run back so that they don't have to spend their hard earned cash on fare?
