Hey guys i have a question for you about /\ Topic. Will you need to have a certain skill in the CH skill tree? because i am just a novice scout with a full grown dewback at my command. i was hoping that all i would have to have was novice CH. like maybe all you should need is a saddle and the animal to ride. hopefully anyway. also, any clue as to what date approx. will they implement this? all replies are welcome, thanks guys.

I'm thinking that just about everyone will be able to ride. At least I hope so We need reason for people to buy critters

I'd actually like to ride a preying mantis spider thing that was in Episode Two that attacked Obi-Won near the end of the movie, I think that'd be real cool to tame and to ride!!

the book say's you can sell pets to other creature handlers at a certain creature management skill point, it would only make sense for the buyers to be low level creature handlers to want to buy a pet. i'd say novice is when you can buy one.

Shadowblade, I don't remember what that creature looked like, but there are spider / praying mantis looking things on Talus called Dalyrakes. Pretty nasty creatures, but I'd like to have one as a pet too. Good luck though, usually plenty of aggros around.

It's hard to say what they have planned. As it stands nowanyone can buy and use a droid with no skill point investment so it will probably be the same for the land speeders, and swoop bikesthey plan to bring out at the same time as the mounts (or so it's been promised).

However since you need to have Novice Creature handler to use any of our animals it may be the same when it comes to mounts. Only the Great and Terrible God's of Dev know for sure.

If you look at the "In development" section on the website, youll find this:

"Creature Handlers will have the ability to tame certain creatures as mounts that players can ride around on. They will include such creatures as the Dewback, Ronto and Bantha."

So people are gonna have to deal with us to get their rides one way or another. How the mounts will actually work, if the pets will be able to do anything besides movement commands (I hope all they get is movement - Just like speeders should) - Nobody knows yet...

Eh it may be like when you tame it it will give you an option to make it into a mount, for example you would train it to be a form of transportation and thats all it cane do so you can sell it but can't use it as a pet to attack things?

If the mounts are like SOE made them in EverQuest you simply click on them in your inventory (we will probably get the radial menu) and an option to ride them. The movements are the same as if you were moving yourself around.

The interesting thing will be if some creatures will be able to run faster than players can. Or whether or not we will be faster if we are on a mount.

In EverQuest there are about 4 different speeds of mounts (horses and lizards) depending upon how much you can spend.

I personally would like to mount my Bageraset (no, not in that way!) since he looks cool.

I doubt it be as lame as SoE EQ version, I pet you be able to store them in data and then take them out when you want them to, and I think it would be worthless if you did not run faster then a player, now if they can run faster then burst speed unsure, but yeah it be neat to be able to ride pretty much anything that taller and bigger then yourself =p

I think you'll need CH to ride them and normal vehicles will be for everyone else.
