Thread: Wild species you look at and scream because of the sampling limitations :)

It was a myth, a beast of legend. Of all my wanderings across countless planets and moons I'd never seen anything even remotely like this, I swore it couldn't exist. How can such a beast manage to be accomplished without a huge amount of sacrifices under the new CL system. I have been to Dathomir many many times, not once have I even see a lair of these nor come across one of the species... yesturday.. i saw a whoel family of them... Malkloc plainswalkers!

There was 3 types, the female, the young and the raw adult.. the female wasn't anything exceptional, the yound is CL55 and has a very very nice 65% kinetic. But it was the adult which had me turning the air blue with cursing..

  • 100% kinetic / 50% energy / 100% stun /

  • 25%acid / blast / restraint

  • vulnerable to heat / electricity / cold

..and what was the CL for this incrediblke beast which also had light armor? CL84!! I mean that made me scream, only 10 CL ratings away from our maximum which is already **edit** near impossible to sample from and worse still is that this family was less than 40m away from a group of mutant rancor as well which I how I happened to notice them. I mean ok, so you have medium armor kimogila and such. They're CL95 which is annoying but ok i can accept that it's fairly uber. But CL84 and with light armor too. I tell ya, I almost cried.

Hehe, you and me both Tal - ran through one of these while going for mutant rancors and they got involved in a fight - it was kinda onesided, and the rancor didn't enjoy it much.

Am finding the young plainswalker to be a good 'fill-in' sample for high end pets as they have high HAM-related scores for their difficulty (often drop a YMP into Prowess and/or Mental as you have a chance of keeping the heat/elec resists positive despite the plainswalkers vulnerability).

Thanks, I've been wanting to find out their levels

They have been a source of entertainment on many of my mutant hunting trips. They have 100% kinetic, so when they wade into a nest of 10 rancors, THEY DONT CARE!!! They will spend a half hour stomping all rancors into the dirt.If you are smart, shoot each rancor a few times so you can go loot them afterwards, lol.

At least they aren't tamable, either

they young are a useful source of high kinetic.

I use Young Plainswalker DNA to boost Kin a bit. I agree it's a shame you can't sample the adults, but who knows, maybe one day they'll eventually bring tapes in for us and we'll be able to.

I'm going to have to check this kinetic thing out, I'd be very surprized if it really does cap at 60% regardless of everything. technically if you made a copy of a merek harvester it should hav 75% kinetic.

Be interesting to know.

Be interesting to see if the system does something with the bit off the top too, or maybe it just throws it away?

Done this with 5 VHQ Harv DNA.Isay with 99.9% confidence that our cap is 60 Kin

I'd say this would be a good question to ask the devs then... why? Improve on nature...but you can't give superior kinetics? Oh gimme a break, there's no justification for that at all.

I saw one of those stoneskin hanadoks. They have med. armor and 90 kinetic and 100 energy. A few other stats are also at 100 and i dont htink any vulnerabilities. It was love at first site.

"the max for resists for our pets is 60% anyway "

Incorrect.

Kinetic is capped at 60%, though.
