Thread: Possible?

Is it possible to get a pet with 60% kinetic and light armor, along with any specials I want to have on it? I have 4 pets that have various combo's of special attack on them as well as 60% kinetic and light armor, but I've heard recently from 2 BE's that getting 60% kinetic would limit the specials the pet would be able to have.

So I've come here to the experts. Possible, or no?

which particular specials are you looking for? If you dont care about any other resists than kinetic I cant think of any off the top of my head that would be off limits - other than AE attacks which arent possible regardless of the resists you have.

If you were asking for 60% Kinetic + Energy resists that would limit the choices somewhat because you wouldnt be able to use Merek Harvester, which has 75% Kinetic and therefore allows a lot of room for having lower resists on your specials providing DNA.

This is what I was thinking of. From the sound of it, the only one that really would have a problem would be the high level one. I really only care about kinetic as far as resists go, because I am a CH/DE, and therefore have no combat skills of my own, so the only thing I really ever fight are creatures. NPC's are tough because of the specials, and PvP for pets is not even possible really. Still need good damage and other stats though, as I said I don't have any combat, so if the pets aren't doing much damage it won't be going down any time soon.

Also, is there a website that shows the color palletes for each creature? I've been told a few of these colors might not work...

Level 25-30 Yellow Blurrg
Light armor, 60% kinetic
Strong Poison and Intimidation, without ranged

Level 25-30 Black Mott
Light armor, 60% kinetic
Blind and Dizzy, no range

Level 30-35 Orange Angler
Light Armor, 60% kinetic
Strong Poison and Intimidation, no ranged attack

Level 30-35 Desert-colored Vesp
Light armor, 60% kinetic
Strong Poison and Blind, no range

Level 30-35 Red/Orange Narlglatch (whichever looks better)
Light armor, 60% kinetic
Intimdate and Stun, no range

Level 35-40 Dark Green Sharnaff
Light armor, 60% kinetic
Stun and Posture Down, no range

Level 25-30 Dark Brown Verne
Light Armor, 60% kinetic
Intimidation and Blind, no ranged

Level 65-70 Dark Red Mawgax
Light armor, 60% kinetic with no vulnerabilities
Dizzy and Posture Down, no ranged

owch! That is definitely asking a lot. I really have my doubts as to whether this is even theoretically possible, but no way would I attempt such a thing. It would be way way more trouble than it's worth. Let me ask you though... why would you want a CL 70 creature if you don't care about HAM or damage?

When I said I only cared about kinetic, I mean as far as resists go, I still want good HAM and other stats. I edited the post to reflect as such.

From what I'm hearing from the other BE's that I've talked to on the server, almost all of them are impossible because of the specials.....

I'm no expert but I wouldn't say they're impossible. Just a lot more work than they're probably worth. I have one that matches what you want in my showroom, in a brackaset skin and I'm just starting to approach twin level stuff. Getting the stats down usually isn't that difficult, so far it's been getting the darn specials to come though without failures in experimentation that's hard.

Best bet is probably to find a few pet making BEs and tell them you have a generous bounty on any of these critters. Let them know what you're willing to pay and let them work at their own pace. Each of those critters would probably take many hours though just due to luck issues.

All the ones you list are pretty do-able except the last one. That one, for all practical purposes, is impossible (to get even close to that you'd need a whole bunch of reclusive cavern spider queen dna which is pretty much impossible to get)

Thats what I figured, but the 2 BE's that I know are both pretty sure its not possible. Since its obvious neither of them know how to do something like this, I have a question for Arthur. Would you be willing to take my order, provided that I were to change around the last one to make it a bit more feasible? I am also on Bria, and you seem pretty knowledgeable about the BE profession and the way it works, so it would please me to have someone like you taking my order.

If so, let me know either by posting here again or emailing me in-game on Bria, name Electro. I'll send you the order via email in game if I hear back from you, and let you work on it at whatever pace you'd like to do it at. Thanks.

Well, the specials would be pretty easy if you can find a gronda juggernaut. You'd need something to help with some of the resists though cause I think they were vuln to something, just don't remember what. Damage isn't going to be the greatest though..... tradeoffs tradeoffs tradeoffs

Good link for color. We should mention that color only changes one of the colors on a pet, and that some have several other colors that seem to dominate. Also, it seems hard to get color to stick on some pets.

I'm assuming you mean knockdown rather than posture change (which as far as I know doesn't stick for pet specials), and for that matter if you don't want to fight NPC's then knockdown/dizzy is useless since they don't affect monsters when pets use them. But as Nancy said, as soon as you want energy resist it becomes tricky to get the specials required. They're certainly possible, but you'd be looking for a very high price, if designed to your exact specs, you'd be looking close to a million IMO.

posture down = crippling strike which is a fairly popular special. Gronda Juggernaught (assuming it even exists in-game anymore, and assuming that the info on www.swgcreatures.com is correct) would not really help all that much because of it's vulnerabilities and because the specials don't match.

I think you could get relatively close to what he asks by mixing mutant rancor with roa kwi guardian (no vulnerabilities and the correct specials) but you would fall well short of the 60% kinetic requested and the damage would not be representative of a CL 70 critter.

I actually went ahead and made about half the ones he has on the list "for the hell of it" but he never did get back to me
