Thread: My Bobby got stiffed!

I'm not a happy camper. My beloved 'Bobby', a CL 10, non-CH, Bio pet is irretrievably stuck in my datapad. When I try and call him, I get an option to lower his stats or alter his level. My other char is a MCH, so I have no intention of investingany skill points with this character. I opt for 'alter his stats'. The server wheezes and grinds and pops up the message, 'Our algorithm is too cack to sort this mess out' or something to that effect.

Now Bobby isn't a 13k HAM AR1 60% Kinetic resist, CL 2 exploitopod. He does, however, have 7k health, going down to 3k mind with 23% resists, no armour and hits for 120. A bloody good pet, yes, but hardly an exploited, genetic freak. Iwas careful to specify 'no exploits' when I ordered him. The BE and I had a discussion about exploits and he told me he had been approached many times for a monster, low-level pet but he refused on principle.

I decide to contact a CSR and got a very swift response. I should have guessed, robots are so much quicker at responding than humans. Anyway, the stereo response went on about how grief stricken they were at my loss and how it made them cry to think of me in my situation etc. etc. - ending with 'There's nowt we can do, tough luck old son'.

Now, I don't want to leave those poor CSRs carrying the burden of my grief, so I was wondering if this veritable think tank of BEs could come up with a possible suggestion for a way forward. Is my beloved Bobby going to be forever nested between my Swoop and my Droid, or can he see the light of the Corellian sun once again? Will he ever canter lazily though the Nabooian grass in pursuit of a 'hottie' Female Tusk Cat or is he doomed to the darkness of my underwear?

Please help this worthy cause with a suggestion or two. You lot made him, help me set him free.

valid non ch or not a valid non ch. That is the question.

Poor bobby is gonna have to spend some quality time with your underwear thats what i think. The debate still rages on about what an valid non ch pet is and some people are apperantly still able to craft valid non ch with stats like your Bobby wich sounds unvalid too me im sorry to say.

The problem is that we dont know how the CL gets calculated for sure. Some people are experimenting with this as we speak and some of the theories are that the final CL on the creature is the average value of all the DNA samples CL while other make up mathematical algoritms that would make einstein himself go mad but fact still remains. We do not know how the CL is calculated wich in turn makes it impossible for us to say what a valid non ch pet looks like.

I would comfort bobby but i dont wanna reach down your pants.

The apparent cap seems to be 5K health, 20%in either kinetic or Energy as a cap for a CL 10 to be valid, from what I can glean of the various posts here. 7k and 23%K is above on both counts, and looks like the choice of lower stats/raise level is what you have to live with.

To be honest, at half both of those stats he would be quite a reasonable creature for a non-CH, and I think the expectation of having him at the pre-patch stats is what you are going to have to change; I doubt the devs will ever see an average CL20-21 wild level's stats as valid for a CL 10 non-ch pet.

I'm currently making 7k/3k/2k 15-17% Kinetic rest vulnerable pets. What I've found is multiple resists are what drive the level up. Slap a ton vulns on there and you cut the level and keep the validity.

Lozareth is long gone.

I totally agree with Lozareth, the CL algorithm seems tobe especially interested in'effective HAM' and damage per second.

I just got novice Be and made a Lvl 9 creature with i think 2 low qual, and 1 averge Fambaa Dna, lq nuna, and spineflap guard dna. IF you average those CLs it is way above lvl 9

ACCESS DENIED!

Just listen to yourself, something which has 7k of health, probbaly 5k of action and 3k of mind is overpowered in the extreme. The fact is that intentionally created using anexploit or not this thing was bound to end up becoming invalid. A valid non-ch pet has 3000/2000/1000 at pretty much the most, a few things can be changed here and there to push the envelope a bit however soon as you reach 4000/2000/2000 or similar you know that this pet is breaking the rules without any shadow of a doubt.

Calm down a tad, I'm quite happy for Bobby to have his stats altered. I don't care if he has100 HAM and hits for 1. The point is, the stupid algorithm for altering the stats will NOT work with my pet. I get an 'error in altering stats' message, which means he's stuck in my datapad forever.

I don't think the average of the CL of the DNA matters for the final CL cause when I make my more powerful creatures...I use dna that is CL 57,57,55,55,57 and then finish product has gone all the way up to CL 63 w/max experimentation.

My old lvl 10 Jax had the same problem. It was a nice L10 with 7K health and something something. Actually me and a friend had jaxes (BE'd) with about the same stats. I adjusted my jax's level, and it went up to 20.

I asked my friend to try adjusting her's for HAM, but she got a message saying the system could not calculate it. I do not know if this isintentional or not, but for what it's worth, you're not the only one who wants to choke a calculator so to speak.

I think that you can either keep him in your datapad and pray that at some point, the HAM calculation will work for pre patch pets deemed 'invalid', or let him go back to the genetic wilderness from which him came. Or find a BE who can make you an identical pet that is now valid

By the way, if you're not from the UK, they ought to give you honorary citizenship there....

Do you have actual facts to back up your statistics for valid pets (4000/2000/2000)? Do the developers come to you in dreams and command you to carve their intentions on stone tablets? You mention that this pet is breaking the rules without any shadow of a doubt. Please post a link where a developer has given those rules to us. Or do you mean the rules that you came up with (e.g., Fortitude under 100)?

I have created several CL10 pets since the recent patch and have gotten the HAM as high as 5000/3800/2200 with 30% kinetic resist. I'm not "exploiting" or using tricks, hacks, or shenanigans. I've just done a lot of research into how the CL calculation works. For example, I've created valid, callable, usable CL10 pets with 300+ fortitude and damage of approximately 70-80. I do this in one or two crafting sessions - consistently - I'm not talking about some rare crafting failure here. I have not had a single customer come back and complain that my pets are invalid. Not one. Which is odd considering that if your "rules" are the gospel, I shouldn't be able to make these since I'm not breaking them I'm downrightviolating them.

His bobby is invalid because it has 23% resists across the board and was probably created - unintentionally or not - usingbugged dna.His 7k HAM contributes to his status, but is a small factor.

You need to lighten up and do a little more homework, professor.

Thanks for that Sygnin. At least if there are others having the same problem the Devs will have more incentive to fix it.

Yes because wild animals which are above CL15 exceed these numbers and have significantly more resists and damage, to quote Keldarin yet again we're allowed to make pets with stats equal to ones several levels higher. In the past the devs allowed non-ch to have CL15 pets, if they were to keep that then we'd be making pets which had the stats of something around CL20 which is not what they wanted. So they lowered the maximum so that in the end people still had pets which were equal to CL15. It's simple logic, but you don't care less even though I'm right about this alot of time so why am I bothering to humour you? Until the devs post the rules who cares what I say eh?
