How about if I made a pet with MH/MA/MSG/MSG/MSG. Acording to swgcreatures it will have aproximatelythe following stats before experimentation:

Hardiness: 429

Fortitude: 212

Dexterity: 392

Intellect: 348

Cleverness: 180

Power: 290

Resists:Special Protection: Kinetic 60% Effectiveness: Blast 17.75 (would that round to 18?) Vulnerable: Rest

Damage: 240 - 250

Speed: 2.16

To hit: 0.31

H: 7611

A: 6924

M: 6507

Key:

MH = Merek Harvester

MA = Merek Assasin

MSG = Mountain Squill Gaurdian

Now If I sampled that and experimented up the Hardiness, Fortitude and Cleverness in the DNA template and then the to hit in the final combine then used a 1st generation sample in the psychology slot would that be a good move? Could also put one in the Mental slot as well I guess depending on what other DNA is used.

My only concern is that using this DNA might bring down the stats im looking for a bit which is why I think it would only be suitable in the psychology slot and maybe the mental one.

The reason I would like to see that generational sample in the psychology slot instead of MH in this template(MH/MR/MH/MH/MR) is that it will lower almost all the resists except Kinetic allowing more experimentation on damage, HAM, Speed without going over Clvl70.

I don't think this would be benefitial. Recall that the psych slot has only a 5% impact on the total resists, but a 30% impact on the "to-hit" value, so your "cocktail" would reduce the resists a tiny bit, but nerf down the dps quite a lot.

Ah yes. You're right, I overlooked that. However I'm still confident that a generational sample in the psych slot, possibly a 2nd gen one would be better as it allows 3 special resists of 100 to be replaced with vulnerabilities, a special resist of 60 and 2 effectivenesses of 25 are replaced with vulnerabilites.

Maybe putting a bit of MR and MH DNA to make a 2nd gen sample?

Or am I plucking at straws here?

Hey BE comunity. I've just returned to swg and decided to become a wonderful BE! Hurrah!

Ive found out all I need to know about tissues (i think) and now I'm starting to look at pets. Im going CH and as I have never been a CH before I thought a nice high lvl single pet would be best whislt I get used to the prof in combat and will also be nice to sell.

I'm looking for the following qualities:

60% Kinentic or thereabouts

Highest Health, Damage, To hit possible

As fast as possible

Specialsso long as theyallow for everything else to be achieved

I'm asuming that to help get higher damage, to hit and lower speed without going over Clvl70 I should keep resists other than Kinetic to a minimum as well as the Mind with no exp points put into action.

Would the use of generational sampling aid this?

Can anybody suggest some commonly used DNA samples and give some info about what qualities the samples have (eg. high hardiness? Good resisits? Specials?) and what they are usually used for (helping to gain resists via generational sampling?)

Ive been playing around a little on swgcreatures.com with little sucess although I've mainly been using MR/MR/??/??/MR and just trying various others in the two open slots to gain better resists and it results in only mediocre pets really. Im going to go try some generational sampling.

Thanks in advance for any advice you give guys, you seem like a great comunity!

Very informative post there

So which slot should I use a sample of this critters DNA in? Should I even be using this in a high level pet?

What are good speed, dmg, to hit and HAM for a high lvl BE pet?

I would certainly avoid generational sampling of anything over CL 50 or so. On average you'll only get 1-2 samples, and you may get none, so with such creatures you really do need to "get it right" the first time.

60% kinetic, high ham and high damage eh? This is something I've been wanting to try as well. I think merek harvester and mutant rancor would be the way to go. Something like MH-MR-MH-MH-MR or something like that. One thing to watch carefully is the HAM of the creatures you sample. You can find merek harvesters with well over 13k HAM if you're selective about which ones you sample. Same goes for mutant rancors of course, but with those you often have to get what you can. I think getting close to 14k HAM is probably possible.

I always prefered the FG/MR combo to the MH/MR combo, but then that more for the resists than the DPS or max HAM.

I agree. VD-VD-HP-HP-HP is definitely the answer.... now what was the question?
