I remember that when I made pumpkin (my baby bantha) I was going for the theoretical max damage on a level 10 without much health. I got him at 1000 health and 240 max damage and was pleased.

I don't remember buckbeak, my level 10 varactyl, as being as good at doing damage as pumpkin. If I recall, his max damage was around 180 but i could be wrong.

Today I generated my mustafar mount - the lava flea. Damage is 45-240 ... huh? Health on this animal is 1715 making him far better than what I could make using generational techniques with that kind of damage. I checked buckbeak - same health, same damage ???!

I checked pumpkin and he hadn't changed.

I wonder ... Cin - you mentioned weird results - have they changed our pet combat level formula again? If they have, this is rather good news (stop groaning everyone!) as it gives us something new to do (ie. working it out .. again ... ok ...let's just TRY to be positive ...) and also, and more to the point, if these are the new numbers we are looking at, then we are going to be able to make more powerful pets for level now.

And if they have NOT changed it and they are handing out high-powered quest mounts to everyone ... what can I say. OH NO ... would be only a start.

Dor

PS. I am almost SURE that the varactyl didn't have that high power before ... anyone got a screenie of their varactyls stats before this patch?

My varacytl has 240 max damage can't remember the health though.

As far as DNA, I was on Kashyyyk Saturday night and Sunday collecting it. There were (are) tons on bugs on the planet and I had a terrible time when I left Kashyyyk as I got the travel bug. Could be that my DNA was buggy as well. I made some CL10s today on TC from DNA I got off the Narglatch Matriarch (2.8 health but only 140 damage I think) so it seems as if DNA is working fine, at least on TC. My Kashyyyk DNA was on Live and as I said I died trying to sample on Mustafar so I haven't taken any new samples or made any new pets since Sunday.

SOE gets no money when we make a CL10, they do get money when someone buys one of their expansion mounts. Should be pretty simple to figure out what is going on from there.

OK. I sent kao to test the recipe - it still works for 5 moufs ... so that isn't changed. He is now telling me he can easily make 1900+ health and 240 max damage in one generation with no problem... So probably I am just a really bad BE or confused or something - ignore my first post please ...

Dor may stil be very right, thining about it, i haven't tried this recipe in quite a long time and i'm not even sure if this was from before the annoying stat shift that we had, so don't put all your faith in it, if somsoen could test it for me as i don't really have time i wouold apreciate it

I just had the impression that game generated level 10's did less damage than that before this patch but maybe my mind is going ...

OK ... my mind is officially going. I check swgcreatures.com and the varatyls have the 1715 health and 240 damage in there as do some of the other level 10s and they've not been updated since august ...

now i feel very very silly. So ... assuming a BE animal is better than a wild one - what's the highest health and damage WE can do before it is level 11?

Dor

EDITED because ... i didn't like the idea that my mind was slipping. As an assistant developer of swgcreatures.com I have full access to the database and i ran a query on our backup table of creature data. I'm not mad and neither is Kath ... it seems that sometime between mid-july and august, the values of damage for level 10's went from 90-110 or 120-130 to the value of 45-240 which is where they stand now. It happened around August 10. I think ... based on the data I am looking at. Will have to sniff around and see what happened on or around that date ...
