i know that this has probably been addressed before but, my pet specials don't, and yes i trained them. Is there any way to get them to work?

I tried for quite awhile earlier today and nope.. couldn't get em to work. Ranged attack definitely doesn't work no matter what i try.

aye, same here, ANOTHER borked patch, I cant get my special attacks to work for crud.

I have had a few pet specials work from time to time,
poison and ranged specials have had no luck with them working.
Klatt when you order a pet to do a special it flashes the specials name above the pets head if it works properly.
I have 3 BE huurtons that I made 1 has strong poison and ranged attack
the other 2 have range and some sort of strike the only special that has worked has been the strike and it has been flaky.
tellpet commands have also been flaky, Think it has to do with zones crashing

How do you know they aren't working and just being resisted? There is no message if a special is resisted, I think that's what we need.

The specials and ranged attacks work for my pets but I cannot initiate combat with range attack. I have found if I tell him to attack then tell him to use ranged before he closes to melee he will use ranged. If I just use the ranged attack he will not engage at all.

My pets' specials are working (at least some of them), but there seems to be some kind of restriction on when they can do a special -- like they can only doa specialevery 30 seconds during combat or something along those lines (maybe so people can't spam the specials?).


With some specials you can see the special appear over your pet (i.e. +Blind+), so it's quite easy to test those out.

I believe the special name only flashes if there is an effect, I don't recall ever having seen anything else.

I'd also like to add that many of the specials are short (melee) range so starting combat with a special will often be futile. That is why I assume getting your pet to follow the mob before using the special works.

Like any attack there must be timers associated with specials, so if you try and call a special when your pet is out of range your special fires but cannot land. This is just like if try and do a special yourself when your out of range only we get a message indicating out of range. If you used the special you'd then have to wait for the special timer to cycle in order to call a special again. From what I have observed if a pet has two specials the timers are tied together, so you can't call "Spec1", "Spec2" one right after the other.

If you are testing your pet specials make sure your pets are in melee range for special first, then try them one at a time. Lower level pets definetly have a tougher time landing on higher level mobs.

Hopefully as you guys say we can gather more data on this, and get the broken bits fixed.

I can't control my pet special attacks either so that means no command to plague strike with my mantigrue screecher on things
