Can a non-creature handler have a pet, and if so, what can a CH do that other players can't do with thier pets?

A non Creature-Handler can have droids and faction pets (both of which can permanently die). Creature Handlers have the unique distinction of being able use "wild" pets and those created by Bio-Engineers (and these pets cannot permanently die).

Hi,

This question has probably been asked before but I will ask it anyway. I am a novice creature handler, I just got the skill the other day, and I would like to know if I can use Rancors that are tamed by higher level creature handlers or ones made by a bio-engineer? I was gonna buy one from a bio-engineer but I'm not sure if I can use it and I dont want to put down a ton of credits then find out I cant use it.

Any input is most appreciated.

Thank you.

You'd be able to use it for a week or two -until the new patch restricts you to calling only those creatures you yourself are able to tame (i.e. no rancors).

And, as of the last patch, Non-CH's CAN get creature pets. I do not know exactly how weak they have to be for you to use them, but I think that it is mostly so non Ch's will be able to use creature mounts in the future. So, if a medic wants a pet gnort, they can have and use one, as of the patch.

From what I read non-ch's can use wild pets that were trained by a CH. They cannot train any new commands and can only use up to level 15 creatures. An example is the Rori tusk cat is a level 16 and I cant use it, the only pet I wanted. Hehehe. I can use a Pugoriss though and hes a level 8. The wild pets dont regenerate their hams though so it takes a long time to heal them required ch's and Non-ch's to have medic skills or hire a medic. The major complaint right now for the Creature handlers.

Bah weep grannah weep nini bong, Megattron.

I think only BioEngineers can put their pets in a vendor (before a creature has been tamed).

You have to sell them in person as a creature handler.

The coolest way I have seen it done is to entice entertainers with bunnies (durmis) and kittens (jax). I haven't found a puppy that works yet - although I have had calls for them.

Since everyone has to go to the cantina at some point, having entertainers have companions that you tamed will get your name out there as a handler that is trustworthy pretty quick. Entertainers are usually the friendliest bunch and have the most friends. I'm sure i'm not the only one that goes to the cantina to find the answer to "where do I find....X" questions.

Also, when you are taming for non-creature handlers, always make release something either obscure or lengthy to type. Learned that the hard way with the first few kittens.

The above comments were made in reference to my ingame experience and only in my ingame experience. Others may have had a different experience.
