Thread: My hat's off to hardcore BE's
My original spec was the commando/CH combination, before it was too incredibly mainstream. Then I found my first holocron, and figured what the heck, I'll listen to these goofy things.
Like many people, I eventually found myself faced with mastering bio-engineer. Since CH was my favorite skill otherwise, I was looking forward to mastering BE so I could make great pets, pet stims, etc. But when I got to DNA harvesting, it felt like someone kicked me in the chest. It's honestly the worst grind I've ever had the displeasure of enduring, and despite my desire to master the profession and enjoy it for awhile before continuing on my journey, it takes real willpower to get myself to go continue harvesting DNA. I'd usually rather hop into a bathtub and have my wife hurl a toaster into it for fun.
How some of you managed to master that line just out of your enjoyment for the class is beyond me, but I definitely /salute you. That takes patience, to say the least ![]()

Oh man. I missed out
While waiting for cloning, DNA sampling was the funnest part of being a BE. Pet stims and tissues are boring, in my opinion, and nobody was buying the clones. So I ran off to different planets seeking the thrill of the sample hunt. If it wasn't red, it wasn't worth messing with. So I'd stand there with my needle, or shoelaces depending on which patch it was, wondering if I would suddenly become lunch to some creature I had no right to mess with. Then I'd have a nice DNA trophy to take home to remind myself of my stupidity.
Of course inventory restrictions turned all those trophies into kahmurras that didn't sell, but ahhh the memories. ![]()
