Thread: resource stat help please

Since I am not a crafter at all, but a resource supplier, I though I would start here in the Arch. forum to see if you guys could help me compile a list of what different professions want in a given resource. I know that OQ and SR are important on steel for instance. Conductivity for copper etc. But what I am wanting is a break down for each profession.

Example:

Architect:

steel.......OQ, SR

Ore.....OQ, ?

Aluminum

gems

petro

chem

etc. etc.

Is this possible, or is there too many variables involved with all of the different items a given profession can make.

My point is that when gathering resources to sell I want to survey for specific stats on the those resources. That way I don't waste time and the customer gets what he wants.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well it does depend somewhat on what is being made and by whom. The item being made will tell the crafter what stat gives what percentage that can be experimented on. So then depending on what quality of the item I am trying to improve that is the stat that I look for. For example, as a Master Artisan making a swoop bike I only care about SR of the steel and copper as that is the only stat at the moment that effects experimentation on them. The OQ does not matter to me. Yet that same steel and copper may not be useful in an item that requires a high OQ or conductivity and SR does not matter. So one person that is making only vehicles may buy it but someone that is not making them might not.

My best suggestion would be to look at some of the highend (top schematics) things for Master Weaponsmith, Master Artisan, and Master Architects and focus on those types of materials. As I am sure that it will really be these people that will buy your resources especially where it starts getting into specific named resources and stats.

Hope that gave you some ideas.

For architects, the only 2 things that we make where the attributes matter are high-end harvesters and crafting stations. Crafting stations are dominated by high-conductivity metal and then the same type of very very high OQ resources that Master Artisans need. For harvesters what matters is HR,SR,UT.

Here's a thread that discusses the harvesters.

Thanks for the responses....lots of good info and I would like to keep this thread going.

From what I have gathered so far...................

Architect important stats:

UT SR HR

furniture: OQ DR

harvesters: UT SR HR

bikes: SR

crafting stations: conductivity

If any other professions are reading this I would appreciate the input also. I would like to be able to ask what profession and what they are crafting and be able to say, 'yes I have that resource', rather than going through the 'what are the stats?' , 'what stats are you looking for'? 'what cpu?', ordeal. Then to simplify things further I would look at the stats my self and price the resources say from 2cpu to 5cpu.

I don't want to gouge people for resources but at the same time I don't want to give them away. I realize that if an Architect has to buy resources at 10cpu then his prices have to go way up or his margins shrink to almost nothing, but at the same time I have seen the same resource I am selling for 3cpu someone next to me is selling them for 10cpu. I am having a hard time figuring out how they can get away with this unless there is something I am missing. It doesn't cost me any more for a particular resource I harvest unless there is a really low percentage of it. If that is the case I don't get it unless there is a very high demand.

You got your information from the Architects - why should this be bumped or kept live?

I posted on the architect board asking for what stats are important on resources when crafting items. I am a resource supplier and would like to know what the customer needs....I got the information from the architects and now I am asking all of you armorsmiths. This is what I have gathered so far:

Architect important stats:

UT SR HR

furniture: OQ DR

harvesters: UT SR HR

bikes: SR

crafting stations: conductivity

What resources you need the most and what stats for most crafted item would be appreciated. I will compile a list and spread it around once I have gathered it all.

Thanks in advance,

I am new to Armorsmithing so I might be a little off but...

Mal- Keeps encumbrance down

OQ- For encumbrance and resists

UT- resists

SR- resists

in armorsmith, oq is 50% of everything... second most import is SR, third is mal, forth is UT.

the resrouces they need are wide ranging, depenign on the armor, but some to keep a look out for are: (sorry for my bad spelling... lol... or you can look at swgcraft.com and hit schematic and see what it takes to make armor).

berylius copper, polysteel copper, kiirum steel, neutronium steel, colat iron, iron, steel, aluminum, naboo fiberplast, rori fiberplast (for RIS), wooly hide, leathery hide, scalely hide (chitin), bone (chitin), amorph gemstone, inert gas (shield gens), aixidite iron, bronzium iron, polymer, and i know i'm missing some... but that is a start.
