Thread: A CH humbly asks for some information about upcoming BE changes

I'm very excited about the BE changes, so much so that for a little while I considered dropping doctor for BE, before I came to my senses. Anyway, I'm saving up to order a BE'd pet to my specifications once the big publish comes through, and I've got some questions.

First of all, is there a particular type of meat (or other organic) BEs need, or a particular quality desired in meat? I thought I would offer a lot of high quality organic as partial payment, but I don't know what to look for. Also, what kind of quantities should I shoot for? I don't want to insult anyone by offering, say, 100 meat only to find out that making the creature requires thousands or something (actually I'll probably try and get closer to 1k meat, but I may not have time).

Next, what kind of skins does a BE have access to? It's not clear to me, reading the posts, whether you can basically use any skin or whether there are only certain types you have available. I'm wanting the bageraset skin, which is pretty much the same as the brackaset but without the plates. I like the bageraset because it's striped, which I love. To get the skins, do you need a DNA sample? And can that sample come from a tamed specimen or does it have to be wild?

Thanks for any replies!

A more accurate comparrason is that the dna is maniputlated and stuck into a bageraset 'container' in much the same way you can have a different engine inside a car's chassis

List of clones available, and colors

You won't get a solid color. The coloring is more like the types of coloring done for clothes. So, picking yellow may only put a yellow stripe, or yellow shading someplace on the pet.

For meat, under the current system, it's important that it has high PE, OQ, and flavor. All three requirements are valued at 33%. Under the new changes, experimenting is needed in the step where you add meat, so it's unclear whether it matters what quality the meat is. It's possible that all the features of the pet (except for the skin) are determined soley by the DNA used, and the experimentation done on the DNA combine.

Uigrad, where did you get that clones are 33%OQ / 33%PE / 33%Fla? To my knowledge, it has always been 50%OQ / 30%PE / 10%DR / 10%UT. I only ask because the new system on TC does not list the ingredient stat percentages on the final creature combine, and so I wonder if the new system may be as you say. Just trying to figure out if I need to change all my resources.

Uigrad, where did you come up with the 33/33/33 numbers? On TC there is no listing of a % breakdown when crafting the creature. Having Flavor in there is not logical anyway, we're not eating our clones...

ok, BEs cannot make just any animal. there is a set group of animals that a BE can craft. with the next patch to BE, it will nearly double, but it is still a set group of animals. we can't fo out and cample a creature an be able to craft that creature. samples must come from wild animals, or untamed BE creatures (housepets). one of the new features 6is that we will now bable to determin the color of the creature. i myself am unclear on if this is all creatures, or only some that have color variance in the wild.

BEs need any meat you can get them if they aren't master. there is a ton of grinding to be done to reach master. as for how much meat an animal creation takes, a carrion spat takes 60 units, a razor cat is 45, and a rancor requires 80. 1K meat would be a decent amount to offer for partial payment (this is of course depending on what you want, and how much you are willing to pay...not to mention the BE that you go to for it).

oh wait, after the patch anyone with cloning I will be able to make a bagaraset. the lowest level it can be made is a lvl 5 creature. i don't know what resources it will require, but being on the cloning I level, means it shouldn't be too much, or too tough to make. i would charge probably nothing for it if you gave me 1K meat, or around 3k credits otherwise. a lot of that would depend on what type of DNA was used to make it. you mbeing a CH could handle something a bit higher than most, so i would probably use good DNA rather than crap.

Ah ok, so basically what a BE does is take a type of creature and use different DNA to experiment with its abilities? I'm glad bageraset is available. Yes, as a CH I want a considerably tougher animal than a wild bageraset (I have one I tamed--CL 10, 900 HAM--obviously I don't hunt with it hehe). So a BE could take DNA from, say, a frenzied graul and use it to modify the bageraset so that I have a tough bageraset?

Thanks for the info!

he was probably thinking about the tissues. almost all the tissues are 3*33%.

one othger think i wanted to clarify, is that sampling from a specific creature will not grant any spcial moves that creature has, or anything like that. you simply sample any creature, and get a DNA sample that has numerical values for 10 stats from 0-999. those 10 stats figure into how strong, fast, and reliable that creature is. on of the things that can be manipulated is how likly a creature is to run away when it begins to take a lot of damage, or how long a mount can /gallop for. so basically, it isn't necessarily true that if i take DNA from a rancor and make a carrion spat, it would be a better carrion spat than if i had sampled a gorg. i may get higher quality samples from the gorg and thus the values would be higher.

So how does a BE geta particular set of specials into a pet? I presume at the experimentation stage. Or do I presume wrong? If you dont need samples from a particular critter to get that particular special, then BE's have a lot more options than I thought.

I'm away from my notes, the 33/33/33 is for some of the other BE things, it's possible he's remembering that as across the board (it's true for some tissues, if I remember right). Honestly, I remember 33/33/33 being the key for clones too, with the OQ/PE/UT/etc being for tissues, and pet stims using non-PE/OQ for charges (unit toughness?) but this is all from memory. i'm going to miss being able to actually look at my bloody schematics and pick my resources as I'm making the thing.

In the new system if you use Rancor DNA you will get Rancor like stats. If you use Gorg DNA (even good stuff), you will get Gorg like stats.

There is no way Gorgsamples will create a better pet, than samples from a Rancor.

Even in the old system this is true in the HAM slots.

Current system:

clone - 50% OQ, 30% PE, 10% flav, 10% UT

tissue - 33% OQ, 33% PE, 33% flav

New system (Tal-N mentioned it in another post so I'm inclined to think it is true)

Clone - 33% OQ, 33% PE, 33% flav just like the tissue. Not sure if this is a good thing as I've paid hundreds of thousands of credits on very high OQ/PE meats. This also may get changed back.
