Thread: Experimentation points
Well, since the thread is here, I might as well use it...
Question: I have noticed that I suddenly have 10 exp points on some items (notably ranged stims), but not components, etc. I have NO doctor skills. How can I suddenly have 10? Is it a new thing, orare these because I just filled in the CM crafting box 4?
Tx.
yes master CM has 10 points for experimenting on combat medicines and 5 for medicines (from master medic)
docs get 10 for medics at master level.
I'm relatively noob to architect - always wanted to be one but never had the reasons or time until recently, now I'm master (woohoo!). Anywho... I keep seeing that we're supposed to have 10 experiment points to spend at master... I have five. Am I bugged or am I missing something vital?
Experimentation for architects is bugged right now, but is supposed to be fixed this upcoming patch.
Does it matter if you use your experimentation points one by one, or all at once?
I thought that if you used more points at once, the risk would be greater but the possible outcome would be far better. Conversely, I thought using points one by one would mean less risk, but lower bonuses. However, after making quite a few buff and stimpacks, I personally can't tell if using all points at once does give a better product (though I have noticed the chance of failing when using more than 3 points at once is a lot higher).
Anyone with some answers? (Apologies if this is already covered somewhere in the FAQ, etc)
I would agree with the one by one. On my first set of buff packs, I was throwing the exp points on there in big chunks and was getting a number of Good/Moderate/Failures responses. When I started going one-by-one, I got great successes almost every time.
I'd like to hear more feedback on this though.
I've done some small experiments on this. It didn't matter if I did 1 point at a time or all in one shot. As long as I was comparing the same itme and all success were the same, I got the same end value no matter what.
That being said, from what I understand everytime you hit the experiment button, it ups the complexity of the unit you are making. So, if you are experimenting on something to put in a factory, you may want to do all your points in one shot (or as many as possible) in order to reduce the number of times you experiment, thus reducing the factory crafting time.
Anyone care to confirm/deny this?
