Does anybody sample from Yavin or Lok?

Looking at the recipes and reading other posts, it looks like most of the sampling is being done on Dath, Dant and Endor. The devs should look into putting more CL 40-85 creatures on Lok and Yavin.

Actually some do from Yavin and Lok. Iam working towards Master Ranger and currently havea standing order from an armorsmith for any Yavin Wooley that I can get of good OQ rating. He also wants as muchLok Leather that I can gather. So must be used for something in the armor line.

I was actually referring to DNA sampling for bio-engineering. Good luck with the rangering, I'm a little bit of one myself.

Yavin doesn't have any critters that are exceptional aside from perhaps the woolamander. As for Lok.. well... it's not very good stuff from there either.

on the contrary yavin does have exceptional creatures to sample from, the woolamander is a waste of your time. unless it is a woolamander harrower then u better kill the sucker and hope for a bone segment. go to kliknik temple and sample the dark warriors or the regular queens they have 60% kinetic resists, no armor however. they make great samples for low lvl creatures, which most of the people need now(dabblers). 4 kliknick warrior samples, a spined puc you get a lvl 19-22 creature with high 50's kinetic, poison and ranged attack. not to mention the 8500 ham. Yavin is definately worth the trip to sample, if you know where to look.

I was on Lok yesterday sampling gurks, snorbals and vesps. Pretty nice resists on some of those. It's an intermediate planet, so it's good for new bio-engs like me. When I went to Endor I was having quite a bit of trouble sampling.

I was on Lok today (meant to go to Rori doh) For a giggle I tried sneaking up aon the Giant Kimolgila (or whatever it's called). Got within 30m and a TKA started laying into it and I got hit with its area attacks. I believe the normal kimo's live on this planet and can be sampled. Only ever seen the Giant and little ones, so can't speak from experiance.

Dant has lots of varied creatures, so I spend most of my time there. Not brave enough to go walking with the rancors

I tried both planets the week after patch and found for the most part the DNA was unremarkable and yielded the same results as stuff off Dantooine does (at much less risk) Course I am not sampling Kimos or such

Dathomir has some good DNA (besides the bugged ones) but for the most part you can make great tank non CH pets from stuff on Dantooine

I went there yesterday to get some samples from the salt/sulfur pool mynocks. I remembered see them during my first few weeks of being in a guild on Lok and I saw they had good resists to everything but acid. They had 60% heat, 50% blast, 60% energy, 53% kinetic and 15% in cold, electricity. I venture there thinking I would have some great resist DNA, imagine my surprise when they had been nerfed. Down to 25% heat and acid, and vulnerable to everything else.

Figures are from memory; not actual.

I had to go to Lok and drop eight 10 BER medium florals for the decent wild wheat that's up there now this past weekend.

What the heck? Let's run to the Imperial Station down there and sample on the way:

Giant Spine Snakes have Strong Poison. Cool. I got some DNA. Got poisoned once too. That sucked big-time. Made a Gnort. Just slugged in 5 Giant Spine Snake DNA's, experimented whatever. I have no clue what I'm doing, and the Gnort had Medium Poison. Not bad.

Tried to sample a Kimogila I found out in the wild. I could never get close enough to it to sample it. Theoretically, if I *could* get close enough to the Kimo to sample it, would I be able to? I just wanted to try anyway.

I guess I'd have to have Ranger trained maybe. I have Scout skills all the way up to Hunting 4 and Wayfaring 4 (or whatever the scout equivalent it for that). I just don't have Master Scout or Ranger. I have a +13 Camo/Mask Scent Wookie Shoulder Pad I made for myself too. Didn't seem to help much with the Kimo. Works fine with Bull Rancors.

Got some other DNA. Mostly from those ape-like critters. Made another Gnort with Ranged attack of all things. I don't remember how I did that.

So, yeah. I sampled from Lok.

Kimos are too high level to sample from. There is a kimo hatchling, or something like that, that unless it changed in the last patch was less than level 70 and should be sampleable. I know that I've taken them down solo before, they're not very tough.

I was looking for one last time I was on Lok but only saw giants or dune kimos. I'm curious what the hatchlings are like after the patch, so I'll keep looking for them from time to time.

The ape things are gurks. The whelps have OK resistances across the board, the others are slightly better but have vulnerabilities.

Crystal snakes? On endor there's loads of Arachne with strong poison and more varied resistances and levels. 60% for the Blueleaf temple dark kickniks? Look around Endor for hilltop gurreck hunters which are very common, or prowling gurreck, Barkmite burrowers to name but a few. They all have 60%+ and some nice energy protection too boot. Surfice to say I don't like Yavin4 cause it's got such a small variety of animals which leads to alot of poor variety resistances compared to Dath or Endor. There is such a small vaerity of animals on Yavin4 it's a joke, Anglers, mammians, crystal snakes, klikniks, gacklebats, choku, mawgax, Tybis, whisper birdsand of course the Woolamander. With around 3 varieties each.

Then do that with Endor. Arachne, Mantigrue, Gurreck, Squalls, Latern birds, Boar wolves, Roba, Blurrg, Barkmites, Bolle Bol, Hanadak, Reemer, Borgle, Merek, Bordok. All with usually 5 or 6 versions each. That is why myself and others prefer it over that little green ball of dirt called Yavin4.
