Thread: can i?
take on the tuskans now with 0 2 0 1 as fencer and master doctor?
I was just taking on 4 huurtons by myself, but that required the use of Fishak and Muon...and every 15 minutes Id be puking my gutts out for a bit...but it comes close, yet i win =)
anyways, good idea/bad idea?
thanks
Izabel
if you want actual strategy, tell us what race you are, what armor you wear, what weapon you use, what buffs, food or spice you use, etc. then we can start giving you some ideas that might be more specific to your needs.
armor = composite helmet, composite chest thats it
buffs = all medical buffs (im a master doctor after all)
foods/drinks = fishak bonus of i think 400 to mind and thakito +300 to health sometimes Sunburns
spice = Muon Gold, and rarely i will use a pixie
I always examine what I fight, and utilize the best (i think, I may be wrong) weapon for the job. ie if I see that it is less resistant to stun, then I use the baton, if they have any armor rating, the vibroblade. I havent gone back to using the gaffi stick due to its speed, so if its unarmored and i want fast whacks, I use the curved sword.
with the Huurtons on Dantooine, Im able to take 4 at a time with muon + fishak + medical buffs. What I do is remove my helm and chest piece (macro) hit one with bleed and blind, rewear the armor, then take it off again and target another one with the same attacks and so forth and so on till i have them all bleeding and death. I also have COB on pretty much constantly until I get 2 killed, then i just wait for the normal attacks to finish the other 2 off. Dont know if this is how it should be done, but I was impressed when I actually did it not once, but 3 times that way. It just takes forever.
oh and Im human
it's still gonna take a while, but not as long. use your dizzy/lunge combo, and you'll do more damage. what i would do is this: get your muon, get some tatooine sunburns. the muon is enough mind buff, and the tatooine sunburn means you can spam all your specials endlessly. sunburn is a drink, and muon is a food, so you can use them together.
also keep in mind that up top, there are rooms with several in them that you can't always see. so always be cautious and always be ready to run. if you drink a sunburn, you won't have to remove your armor to use specials.
also, don't assume my strategy works. it works for me (and i never use muon) but you may not like it or find it helpful. always be ready to adapt.
good luck!
I was a mere apprentice swordsman the other day, and with dizzy/lunge, i could solo any tusken up to a warlord. You should be fine. Go in a group and Fort Tusken rocks
thankyou for the advice guys heres what happened
I made a macro that would switch to a different pane, use the gaffi stick, bleed1 and blind1 then switch back to the main pain.
i would dizzy lunge each and everyone of them tuskans, then take my time on the kill's
used up 2 muon golds, its a spice hon. =) 15 minutes each
so after 30 minutes, I was already at 80k....WOW
hon.
hmm..didnt know spice took up the food bar =)
dear.
thanks for the info thats good to know!!
sugarbritches.
Alright Altair, heres one for ya...
How do I get used to using the dizzy+lunge combo?
I've never really used it and I'm ending my hiatus soon... and would like to become more effective without a pet out. As it is, going to the tusken fort, or trying npc's on dant without a pet is something I'm not ready to do yet. Big scary buggers.
I have a full set ofvarious pieces ofarmor. None of it is particularly good, but I also can wear it all the time. I'm also set up so that while I dont really have health and action regen rates, I dont need it. I use stims all the time and with all my armor on I still regen 4 or 5 mind per regen tick. I only really remove the armor between battles when I need to regen my mind. When it's off, I can regen at around 6 or 7 mind per tick.
I dont use food or drinks, and probably wont as I'd have to find a master chef's shop to do that. Also, I just went broke
. I havent generally fought with doctor buffs. I think getting those could be a fair deal easier then finding drinks, so I'd be willing to go find those if they will really help me out.
Oh, I'm a 1322 fencer and was thinking about going up one of the defense trees before finishing out the speed tree. Probably the dodge tree because of the cob enhancements.
I have mostly grouped with other people or big pets, so I havent really been a tank. As such, I havent really used the brawler skills that make tanking easier, like warcry, dizzy, and lunge. I do understand and use intimidate a lot however. So what does warcry do and how does it figure into the dizzy + lunge combo?
So, like I said, looking to take on bigger things,I have armor, willing to get doctor buffs, novice fencer wanting to learn how to get used to using the brawler commands, and maybe see if theres anything I can do to flesh out my fencerness. Any baby steps I can take? Heh heh.
Oh, and I read 'sugarbritches' wrong the first time. Shame on me.
Odeeso Arnsu, (Nearly out of Hiatus), Novice Fencer 1322, Novice CH 3314, Novice Medic 2040, Picking up Novice Armorsmith maybe
first of all, finish off that footwork tree, and get a high high high damage gaffi. feed it reefer if need be. feed the weaponsmith reefer if need be. whatever it takes. your gaffi should be about 290 or so if you get a good damage slice.
quit playing around with armor. do some research, and get some good stuff. this will cost money. have friends donate, or go run missions. i use Ubese with 70% kinetic, and i pay 8k for each piece. helmet, chest, two bracers, pants and boots. gloves i don't bother with, for now. this means that if a hit does get through my defenses, i typically take little more than 20 damage from most creatures.
find a master chef. i know it's hard, but it's much cheaper than buffs. buy crates and crates of tatooine sunburn. then (hopefully you're Zabrak or human) max out your mind stats. the gaffi stick will have a mind cost of around 14, so if you have high focus, it'll mean each move takes little mind, so you can use those stims. otherwise, if you don't want food, become a doctor (0-2-3-0 minimum) to buy buffs and use them yourself. that might be easier on your server.
when you go into battle, set up your armor macro. get your buffs set, and charge. i like to open up with dizzy, then lunge2. (it SEEMS like they stay down longer if i use dizzy first, but that's just my opinion) you can also use lunge1. once they're down, dizzy should keep them down. if you're battling creatures, use lunge2 and warcry. warcry delays them from taking any action for 10 seconds (warcry1) or 20 seconds (warcry2). if you have footwork IV 10 seconds means 9 body hits, and 20 seconds means 19 (or so).
if you see the baddie starting to get up, and you know you have a while before you can knock him down again, lay on an intimidate and a blind, and hit CoB. then keep your stims ready. if you're buffed you can be spamming specials almost non stop since the mind cost on the Gaffi is so low. but you still have to be careful.
for most of this, Master Brawler helps IMMENSELY. what that does is it allows you to take on those bols and pikets and such because you can knockdown+warcry, and spam some bodyhits. that'll take just about anything down really quickly. and when they get up, you have your CoB to protect you, and that 70% reduction for all incoming damage.
i'm Zabrak, so if i get in a bind for mind (tee hee! rhyming) i use equilibrium. i also only wear my helmet if i'm really low on mind and don't want a one hit mind incap.
that's a lot of information, and i'm sure some of it makes no sense. feel free to ask.
if you're on Kettemoor, i'll buy you a suit of good Ubese. i think you're on another server, though.
i hope that helps SOMEone, at least.
