Anyone managed to sample this? I've heard that its a real challenge just getting to the mouth of the cave let alone getting to the bottom of it to sample off the creature which is rumoured to be as large as an AT-ST. swgcreatures has DNA stats as well as it creature stats. very impressive all-roundeddefenses

Been to the cave but got incapped by 3 force NPC's one had 21k ham the other 2 had 8k ham. Killed the 2 off but got owned by the 21k dude when he left the fight with my pets and aggro'd on me. You get singing mountain clan faction for the NPC kills inside the cave btw. I was only able to get close enough to the Queen to examine her. Stats are awesome: No Vulns - SP: 60% Kenetic Energy Blast 50% Heat - Eff: 20% Stun Rest. Cold Elec. Acid. - Light Armor - 13k ham.

I dont have the waypoints but you go to a POI on dathomir near the big mountain just north of the northern most outpost. There are two npc's in the village area - talk to the one inside one of the huts and she gives you a waypoint to the cave. The other npc gives you a wp to the mutant rancor cave btw.

Can you mask scent through the cavern or do you need a combat party to get through the cave?

There are NPC's in the cave, so Mask Scent will not work.

Harder to sample than a whole herd of mutant rancors but i got a sample last night, one VHQ sample on the second attempt and then she died . sat in the same spot and waited for 4 hours strait and she never respawned so she must be just once a day. It took me about 6 attempts to get down close enough to her to be within sample range.

Im also the one that posted her stats on the swgcreatures.com web page and the sample data i posted there last night if anyone is curious. I am not a master scout (yet) so couldnt post alot of info, her max HaM last night was over 13k and judging by her stats and DNA i would place her level between 65 and 75, best guess...70. Which makes her the only level 70 creature in the game we can sample.

Im going to spend a week if need be getting 4 more samples and will build a Angler out of it to see what level is produced.

Oh at one point she bit me for over 700 dammage, so shes passing up some dammage ranges of other critters.

I did a search on www.swgcreatures.com for the best creature with CLless than or equal to 75, Light Armor and Kineticgreater than or equal to 60% and after looking at the results, decided that the Reclusive Cavern Spider Queen was the best bet. No vulns, nice resists in most of the important spots.

So I set out to Dath withabout six guildmates, planning to clear out the Nightsister Spider Clan Cave just enough so that I could sneak up on the Queen and sample her DNA over and over again to make myself an Uberpet.

I'll note now that you'd better bring some excellent melee characters with you, plus a Doctor or two to get through. The spiders themselves aren't so bad, but at one point we fought a 300k HAM Nightsister with force powers, AR2 (I believe, could have been AR3) and 100% resists to far too many attack types.

Eventually we got down to the "royal chamber" containing the Queen and about a half-dozen spiders. Everyone else hung back while I changed out of my armor and into my Maskscent clothing, went prone, and crawled down alone. About 25m out from the Queen, all her protectors aggroed me and I ran back, yelling to my guildmates to kill them, but DO NOT AGGRO THE QUEEN. I guess I kited them back far enough, because the Queen never went aggro.

Once the guards were dead, I re-maskscented and snuck up on the Queen again....

25m... 23m... 20m... 18... 15!

Clicked my sample button and waited, expecting full well that she'd just aggro me and this would all be for nothing.

But to my surprise, I succeeded and got myself a VHQ sample, and (unfortunately) killed her in the process:

The rest of my group left for more interesting locations to fight in, but I decided to stay to see if she'd respawn. I shifted to Windowed mode and did some web browsing as well as catching up on some work, continuously alt-tabbing back to check and re-maskscent. Nothing.

So I went to a deserted corner of the Royal Chamber and logged out. Much later I logged back in and the queen was there, but my buffs were gone and when I tried to sneak up on her, everything aggroed me again and I was quickly killed.

But still, it was the most excitement I've had in this game in a long time, and I plan to do several more excursions there so that I can get at least five samples of this DNA to make myself a great tanking pet with.

Saddly the Nightspider clan lair has multiple triggers that will draw aggro. You simply cannot go into there without a massive hunting party to fight things off. Given that kind of effort needed I'd just settle for the Prowling Gurrecks of Endor or the Arachne Queens. There's a difference between what is the best and what is a viable source of income. Just think of how much effort was needed to get samples from that Queen and then realise you probably can't justify the price to anyone.

My question is why didn't you enter in that DNA sample to swgcreatures.com?! Slacka!

Did they fix it so we can get all the special attacks now, like poisen spray?
