Thread: BE Additives for Doctors

Why do BE additives only work in food buffs? Why do BE additves not include medical use, you would think that Doctors, being a profession that effects biological attributes, would be able to benefit from the use of Bio-enhanced substrates.

Buffs are strong enough as it is. They dont need any enhancing.

In concept I agree that it would be nice to have some synergy with docs when it comes to, lets say, "biological improvements". But I agree with Z, the last thing this game needs is more or better buffs. Oh gawd, that as already ruined the game as it is imho. Also it would make a lot of sense to allow our additives to be used in spices, but then again I'm not all that anxious to see us become "alts to all smugglers" the way we are for chefs now.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that I think we should have some super-powered additive for buffs; as much as maybe a replacement for another component of an enhancement.

What if a BE was able to craft a suppliment for meats from another organic, or several, organic sources? Does that really seem like stretch?

I think it would be a good thing to be able to craft a supplimentthat could replace meats in certain schematics... take for instance Avian meat, who in their right mind wants to hunt Nunas all night long andhave to charge400cpu to make it worth their while? Better yet, who in there right minds wants to pay 400cpu for meat??

There are Doctors out there who are charging 20k for a decent buff; with the re-vamping of the group pay-out system, supposedly capping at about 9k per mission, what is the incentive for hunting once you master a profession? Money?? Asmall group of masters can camp Night Sisters, get an uber loot and sell it for a few million at auction a few times a week... seems to me that this is more and more what is happening.

Just a thought, to me it seems like the only reason BE's exist are for the love of crafting Pets (that most people truely can't appreciate) for an all but dead profesion or to make food additives for a minimal amount of profit.

The other day I got a /tell from a guy wanting a Rancor Deed to drop in his house as a decoration... gads... is this what we have become??

/HeavySigh, Like I said, just my 2 credits worth.

Personally I think it would make more sense if we were more closely tied to Combat Medics.... I mean we should of been the once who made compontents for them... similar to how we make enhancments for Chefs.

lol..I've got a junk rancor I use in my house for decoration It gives visitors a shock.

Good idea about the doc additives, maybe something like janta blood for docs.

But with the CU coming, buffs are going to get nerfed witha 1k cap. That should make things interesting.

doctors already do benefit from BE items- Active Biosensors. As far as i know any doc worth their salt buffing has at least the +25 cap from clothing, and that can make a huge difference. I have to agree w/ the rest that buffs dont' need any more enhancing than they already have.

My thoughts:

1) BEs have a lot on our table as it is, I'm not a big fan of giving us more to make unless it fits easily into our current system.

2) Like others have mentioned above, doc buffs are already very strong, I'm not much in favor of anything that could possibly increase their value.

3)It certainly does make sense for us to be involved in some way with doctor & cm items, not necessarily just buffs.

I do think we should work closer with CMs tbh, they're all about chemical/biological warfare and who knows more about biology then us?

Agreed that a CM/BE synergy would make a lot of sense, but from a practical standpoint there is no market for us there. CM are so extremely scarce because their class is really messed up imho. They have the distinction of being the class that requires the most skill points in the game to attain, yet aside from their controversial powers in pvp (that has been recently nerfed) their usefulness is pretty questionable, especially relative to doctors. So I think until the devs "see the light" and make CM more useful, having a synergy with CM would not be useful to us imho and if we required components from them, oh boy, that would really really suck as relatively few of the few CM that there are even bother with crafting. Most of them buy and are just in it for pvp.

Agree that CM?BE synergy would be good, But i also see a benefit to the doc synergy in part. If a Synergy for CM then why not additives for Poison/Disease Buffs?

We help make the diseases why not have the anti-bodies.

Otherwise, I would just rather see a greater tissue range. lets be honest out of 12 Chef tissues we only really make 3, I havnt seen any BE on Bria selling the Other 9 in quanitity due to the ridiculuos resources required. And for Tailors we only have really 4 or 5 good sellers, with 2 other IF you can get the milk or eggs!!

CMs are very useful in PvP, the only problem is that most of the time they are only using poisons and many CMs forget just how useful area heals really are. I would go CM again if I wouldn't get the crap kicked out of me.

Just user master medic tag and don't throw any poisons, they will think your a wimpy medic

nah... people have a keen eye for watching the giant-blue-balls-of-fury and i would get ganked. also CM offers no defence and eats SP. Only thing worth stacking with it is TKA or fencer, and even then you cant keep MCM.
