Thread: Freakin' Boba Fett came to Tempest...just WOW!!!

I generally don't get too excited about things but, I just found this to very, very cool. I wanted to share with my fellow BE's that there was an instance of Boba Fett on our server. One of our role playing guilds, Red Phoenix(RP) worked out all the specifics with Pex (dev) to have him come in and arrest another player. Just very way cool. Here is the pic.

way cool Bendi. It's neat that they would set something like that up, and that a dev would cooperate like that.
Bendi mentioned role-playing, guys, so I doubt they were too worried about the pvp balancing aspects of this

Ohhhh, wow, seriously Pex needs a medal, he's constantly going around the servers making things more immersive for us. You guys should have seen the Imperial city of Luxor on Chimaera before the guild that ran it left the game: 4 HQ bases, it was a PvP-hub, so Pex came along and added a row of landed TIE Fighters, complete with pilot NPCs standing beside them, a Lambda shuttle, an entire detchament of Stormtroopers all lined up in ranks outside the city hall. I think there was even a static, unattackable AT-AT at some point 
But Ive never heard of a major character NPC "coming alive" before.

some guild had Leia make a speech at their 1 year, and x wings landed etc. Luxor was the best on our trusty Chimeara though

Boba wascontrolled by Pex. There are a lot of legal issues and stuff that have to be approved by higher ups....probably no less than GL....for someone like Boba Fett to be allowed in game. No one would dare fight the mighty Boba Fett. His HAM is off the chart. Suffice it to say it would take a small army to take him down. Besides, everyone knows that Boba is a Def stacker and he ain't goin' out like a punk....lol. There was the ability to attack in a radial menu but, WHY? would anyone even consider such a thing....haha. Everyone was too busy picking their jaw off the floor. I just think it is really cool for a Star Wars icon to show up in a game like this. It just renews my outlook on the game as a whole.

SOE held a player event on Naritus in the town of Anchorhead. Boba Fett, along with a bunch of jedi, invaded AH. It was a very cool idea. Unfortunately the servers couldn't handle the event. People would go LD the minute they came into town. When they load back into the game they would be in the cloners. Come run out of the cloners and go LD again.
Needless to say some people were so upset about the number of times they CTD they actually left the game.

They should use that tactic to kill the AFK spammers in coro. Hell, I'll even pay the bounties.

I would hope they could come up with specific guidelines and use any SW character. After all, the entire game is based on the movies. There are some big entities involved, but even so, this is clearly not the movies.
In show business, even bad publicity is good publicity.

Yes we had one set up on our server - The Imperials invaded Tyrena to take control over the city.. We had Rebel NPC spawns in the city and Imperial troops coming in from the other side of the bridge.. The event started in Space and then the ground crew took over. So the event was both PVP and PVE at the same time... Lots of fun
