Thread: VERY BAD BUGS

Hi all,

If you like being a BE, you need to bug report the following bugs *to death* because I've sent in 19 CS tickets and gotten 19 versions of "bug it in game" as a response.

I'm on wanderhome and I suppose these could be server-specific but I'm guessing they are game wide.

You all probably already knew about the bug that made mouse-sized animals that might never grow up large enough to be made into mounts. Now it's worse. Since publish 19, the following pet bugs exist on Wanderhome:

1) BE-pets with the *potential* to grow past level 10 are no longer giving their owners the option to stunt their growth. This really sucks for mounts because generally if you make one that's under level 10, you get nailed by the size bug above and it never gets big enough to train.

2) Some players have reported that they cannot trade or transfer a BE-pet with the *potential* to grow past level 10 to any non-ch player. It does not matter how low the pet's current level is, or how few pets people have in their datapads.

3) Some non-ch players are reporting being unable to call pets that have the *potential* to grow past level 10, no matter how low their current level.

4) Some non-ch players are reporting they cannot even TAME a pet from a deed for a pet with the potential to grow past level 10.

----

With respect to wild (non-be) pets:

Right now I cannot trade or transfer ANY non-be pet to any non-ch players. This is regardless of how low the pet's level is (even a level 1 nuna won't go) or how few pets the players have in their datapads.

WARNING: IF you are a CH and someone who is NOT a CH wants to trade or transfer a pet to you to trade you MUST verify the following:

1) It must be level 10 or lower with NO potential to grow past that level.

2) It must be a BE'd pet!

Otherwise you risk the trade only working one way, and you'll be stuck with their pet and unable to trade it back to them.

This last bug REALLY sucks as people think you are stealing their pet!!! I had to pay a guy 300k credits to get him to stop bothering me about his stupid level 21 bantha because I couldn't trade it back to him after training it!

People PLEASE bug these in game as often as you can.

Dear Vashra,

I am terribly confused. I do not understand what you mean by the 'potential to grow past level 10'. Are you talking about ... for instance a level 12 pet deed?

Because if you are ...

1) I was not aware of any stunting growth ability on BE pets. The only one I have ever heard of is on the GIANT carrion Spat which is NOT a BE pet. That is to enable it to not grow too big to ride but never applied to any BE pet that I have ever heard of.

(Note: others have reported that their high level spats were getting too big to ride just like the wild carrion spats and there was no option to stunt the growth but that was more a 'wish it worked like this' thread rather than a bug b/c it was never in the game before anyway since it was never needed before ...).

2) no comment.

3) no comment.

4) I was under the impression that a non-CH has NEVER been able to tame anything that had more than a level 10 on the pet deed level. They would take it - it would become a level 1 and grow up. If it was a level 11 on the deed they could not tame it. -- do others agree that this is how it has worked at least since I started being a BE in approx June 2004?

So it would seem that the 'bugs' appear to be mostly in datapad-datapad transfer. I would propose to you that, perhaps this is not a bug but a 'feature' toprotect unknowingnon-CH's from buying and receiving pets that will be unusable by them in a fortnight?

Just my 2 cents,
dor

This really sucks for mounts because generally if you make one that's under level 10, you get nailed by the size bug above and it never gets big enough to train. BE pets have never had the option to stunt growth that I am aware of, but I was not a BE in Beta and I did not become one until the end of 2003. There is no "size bug" the size for BE pets is decided by CL, this was a stealth change (nerf if you will).

2) Some players have reported that they cannot trade or transfer a BE-pet with the *potential* to grow past level 10 to any non-ch player. It does not matter how low the pet's current level is, or how few pets people have in their datapads. BE pets with a CL over 10 have never been able to be traded to a Non-CH player. The only exception would be a pet deed. Since a BE pet is a deed until it is tamed, anyone can hold a deed in their inventory, no matter the CL or skin, so long as they have room in their inventory.

3) Some non-ch players are reporting being unable to call pets that have the *potential* to grow past level 10, no matter how low their current level. There is no "potential" to grow past the stated CL on a deed unless that deed is a Pre-CU crafted deed. If it is a Pre-CU crafted deed then it will most likely receive the Pet Validity Check either upon taming or upon reaching maturity.

4) Some non-ch players are reporting they cannot even TAME a pet from a deed for a pet with the potential to grow past level 10. See the answer to question 3.

Right now I cannot trade or transfer ANY non-be pet to any non-ch players. This is regardless of how low the pet's level is (even a level 1 nuna won't go) or how few pets the players have in their datapads. I have no problem transferring Non-CH pets to Non-CH players. I transferred 4 minor sludge panthers (CL* upon maturity) and 3 Carrion Spats (CL10 upon maturity) yesterday.

WARNING: IF you are a CH and someone who is NOT a CH wants to trade or transfer a pet to you to trade you MUST verify the following:

Before you allow someone to trade their pet to you for training, perhaps you should ask them to examine their pet in their datapad - in the left-hand window you will see all the stats for the pet which includes the Difficulty Level (or CL). If the pet is 1 (20) and the player is not a CH do not take the pet. The first number, 1,reflects it's current ageand the second number (20) reflects is age or level at maturity.

People PLEASE bug these in game as often as you can.

I agree with Dor, a Non-CH has never been able to tame or have a pet in their datapad that was over a CL10. The only exception is a former CHmay have pets that he/she is not able to call in their datapad

Simple response to this ...............

Working as intended.

Pets over CL10 have never been tameable, useable or tradeable to non-ch, that was the whole point of having non-ch pets and aiming for the CL10 cap so that we could provide be pets to non-ch characters, I've been a MBE/MCH for over a year now and i have never been able to trade any creature that hasnt grown past 10 to a non-ch if it was able to grow past 10, i have never been able to tame on any of my other characters any pet deed that has been higher than 10, the only stunt growth option that i know was on the wild spawn giant carrion spat so that you could put a saddle on it.

Moi??? A wicked or evil side??? Hehe, perhaps when my profs keep getting nerfed. I do have a Sindal on Eclipse and a dear friend on Naritus always called me Sin instead of Cin - I'll answer to most anything.

This is good b/c I've recently reached a milestone in human development - you know - the one where you call everyone by the wrong names? Your mother did it to you and it drove you crazy right? You swore you'd never do it yourself? Well ... guess what

(yes Kao - i'm way older than you thought

My pre-CU memory fades more each day, but I don't think #3 and #4 were ever possible.

BTW, did you know as a non-ch you still cannot have more than two pets in your datapad when taming new pets. This means for the reward items (Varactyl, Bolotaur, Kashykk Bantha) they removed the check for datapad pet limits, but they still count. If you wanted a new non-ch BE'd pet you'd have to remove everything save 1 creature just to tame it.

I have a CL10 Razor Cat, a Varactyl, a Bolotaur, and a Bantha. I can't replace that Razor Cat unless I toss my quest reward pets.

Laf Dorelli. If you start eating dinner at 4 PM let us know and we'll have an intervention.

It does still appear though there's the size bug. I have a lvl 16 BE CuPa and he's full grown, and I'm guessing I'm not going to beable to train him mount. Going to test that today trading to a friend I know that has that much ch.

You'd think the devs could for mounts make their size less variable. I saw a lvl50, I think, humbaba or falumpaset. It was almost as tall as the cantina!

Also, can someone slap the devs and please tell them to make more mounts!! I mean jes, many other creatures are perfect for mounts, and almost look weird for a pet following you around. Eopie is one. I'll look online and edit what others there are.
