I wanted to see a discussion of the best special combos for the MCH for PvP and for PvM given three pets at about level 23 and two pets at level 35

1 x 35 with strong poison / strong disease

1x35 with knockdown / dizzy

vs

1 x 23 with strong poison / stong disease

1x 23 with knock down / dizzy

1x 23 with intimidate/stun

what combos would be best??

since it is possible to get ar1, 40% kinetic resists at lvl22, i vote for the three creature set. however i disagree with the specials...

i don't like creatures that do knockdown or posture change. i rather do that myself (i'm tka.) if a creature uses up the knockdown early on, i might not be able to do it myself when i want it...

so i choose: poison/disease, dizzy/stun, blind/intimidate. someone without the ability to knockdown themselves would disagree with me of course.

for PvE, I'm using 2X35, 1 with poison/knockdown, 1 with disease, dizzy

for PvP, My personal experience has been that 3 pets > 2... simply because I can still do damage if one gets immediately flamed to death.

So i'm using 1 disease/dizzy, 1 poison/knockdown, and 1 disease/blind

As a fencer, I don't need pet dizzy so i made 3 x 23 pets like this:

pet #1: stun/strong poison

pet #2: blind/strong disease

pet #3: intimidate/knockdown

Btw, all 3 pets are ar1, 60% kinetic, 10K+ health and ranged. As soon as the 'force special' commands in CH are working I'll start the fight with a ranged special 2 attack and all hell will break loose lol.

as a master ch myself I would love this combo... I could do without intimidate though just because I don't wnat to have to chase down my prey...

attack damage ranges from 210 up to 320 on those critters. I started with bark mite burrower queen/bark mite burrower, arachne warrior/webmaster, merek harvester, rancor and gnarled rancor dna to get the appropriate specials, vulnerabilities, armour and ranged attacks in my base clones. Then I repeatedly sampled those all down and filled in empty slots with merek harvester dna until I got a low enough CL. Lotta work but worth it by far.

I've been using all Arachne Warrior DNA for creating CL 35 pets:

Light Armor

30% Kinetic and Energy Resistance

Blinding Strike

Strong Poison

There is no need to resample. Just keep putting points into Physique until you get Armor, which will give you a pet around CL 29 if you were to stop there, depending on the quality of the DNA. Then, put 2 or 3 points more into the areas of you choice. I max out Physique, if it isn't already, and put a point each into Psychology and Mental to increase the Attack Speed and To Hit. Usually there are about 3 experiment points remaining when I quit experimenting. Using all exp points was giving me a CL 39 pet (Arachne Warrior is CL 42, I think). When i get back home from the holidays,I will post more info in the Creature Recipes thread.

Now, someone may need to correct me, but I believe the special attacks can only be invoked by the player only. That is why there have been new commands added.

Has someone found that a BE creature will act on it's own for SA1 or SA2?

I would like to know this answer as I have been too busy sampling and testing to actually make and fight with something.

Currently there is a bug and the player can not invoke specials. Creatures with specials would always randomly use them on their own if they had them. It was random and infrequent and you received no message saying they did. It was not obvious for most unless you had a creature with knockdown.

I forgot to ask if all bars were at 10k... I'm trying to get my BE to make me one on Valcyn...

Is it possible to sample a creature with Area Affect specials, like Poison Spray?

That would be an interesting special if it was possible...

I don't know where I am going yet...Since the specials aren't working yet for CH

Louis, not all bars are at 10k, thats one of the sacrifices I had to make, in addition to mass vulnerabilities. The health bars are 10k up to 12k, the action are 7k-9k and the mind are at 5k each. Since they are strict PVE tanks, I think this is somewhere we can cut corners and still have a top of the line pet.
