Thread: Word of Advice for those Making the Uber CL10 Pets

Hi,

Just thought I'd share this with those of you that are making these sub level 10 pets. Making these type of pets and distributing them/and or using themcould get your account banned or suspended.

Why do I think this? Well, there were a couple slicers on Eclipse (happening on other servers from what I hear)that just had their account banned for using an exploit to slice a weapon twice. SOE did not come out first and say, "this is an exploit don't do it"...that's not there way of doing things but it was obviously not a part of the game mechanics to be able to do it.

It only takes common sense to know when something isn't working as intended. The evidence that these pets are not correct points to everything that has been discussed previously (non ch pets changed from cl15 to cl10, CL rebalancing in game). Giving a non-ch all the advantages of a mid level CH with non of the disadvantages (skill point investment) is an obvious misuse of the system.

If you continue to make and/or sell these, do it at your own discretion. I for one will not because I value my account. By the way, if this system is working as intended, then I will be the first one to admit that I was wrong but I'd rather error on the side of caution.

The difference is, there was a documented system that clearly stated an item was supposed to only be slicable once.

There is nothing documenting this system or its intentions. It doesn't take any special effort to make them, its very, very easy. The community has specifically asked for an answer about the creatures we can make, and have not gotten one. IF they ban people under those circumstances, they will have a lot of letters going to Sony HQ, and a lot of bad publicity. The only people think think there is a controversy are those actually on these boards, there has been nothing to discourage players who would never think about going to a game forum.

This is from someone who thinks it is a bug and an exploit, but thinks the developers have a responsibility to communicate problems about their game.

Kavedawg on test center used Nocous DNA, and reported that the CL was too low. At the end of that thread, Thunderheart stated he acknowledged and reported the issues on the thread.

Ood_Bnar, a Developer also said in another TC thread: "I believe the wait is over. Prepare for superbunnies."

Then the TC correspondent (Vandessa) and others joked and got all excited about "super bunnies", laughing away while ignorning people's bug reports on Nocous DNA making too low a level.

Kavedawg said:

"When the Armor rating is dropped while combining samples with an armor rating, all resistances will be increased but the CL of the end clone will be off a tad here is the data from my combines."

"More BE clones, I made a second clone using a non armor sample for physique, There was not a jump in the resistances, but the CL still seems lower than what it should be"

This information was never followed up on, devs and correspondents joked around concerning super-pets and now you think people who used in on live servers should be banned. Rediculous.

Don't be so quick to dismiss a fear of banning. My friend just got banned for using /transferfaction. It was all legit. But because he got so many faction points that way so quickly and use them to setup bases, they claimed he used an exploit. He hasn't been able to log in since Christmas Eve... yes they told him this on Christmas Eve. Nice holiday gift for him .

Yes, there are differences in the two situations, but there are also similarities. Why take the chance?

Or we could just use a scare tactic like this when we cannot get the devs to drop everything and balance a system that we think needs balancing, right?

Gimme a break guys. This is not an exploit. The system needs balanced, yes. Krayt FWG5s needed balanced. They knew about it for months. Eventually they got balanced. If anything happens to these super-pets, it will be something similar to the fwg5 situation. Possibly the already crafted pets will be adjusted. There will not be a mass banning of bio-engineers.

As has already been asserted by other players numerous times, there is no funky key combination to making these pets. All you have to do is craft intelligently. While it is unbalanced, it is most definately not an exploit.

Thank you so much Anubi! All I am doing is sampling DNA (NOT nocious kamurith) and combining it to make great pets! I'm not cheating the system or fenangling it in some strange way or using voodoo magic.

I sent Thuderheart a PM about this and he responded that this is a known issue and will be fixed soon. He will be posting about it in the weekly update. So take this as more third party information but stay tuned for the weekly update.

Using the Nocuous DNA is a bug. It is not unbalanced as you like to call it. Why is this a bug? If you examine the DNA sample you will notice that all resists are 0, yes 0. For the most part the *bug* occurs when the fortitude does not reach 500 to carry over the Armor rating, which results in the resists being all the same and fairly high. The more generations you move down with this DNA the lower the CL gets while the resists get higher. Your saying this is not a bug?

I fully agree that SOE shouldn't ban anybody for making or using these pets until they officially come out and say that it's an exploit [If they do]. The system is undocumented so nobody knows how to classify this. For now we call it a bug, not a misbalance.

I've made them, but I will not sell them. Not for fear that my account will get banned, because I don't want to deal with anybody if these pets get removed without warning or nerfed to high hell. Getting these pets into the system is only going to have a negative effect on the BE profession, as you will find more CH complaining.

So use your own discretion when it comes to these pets. After all it's your monthly fee and not mine.

some people legit think this is as intended, calm down, get over it and wait like the rest of us, enjoy them in the mean time.

I have read MANY posts and its not just that Kahjurma DNA everyone talks about, you can make the super bunnies many differnt ways. I THINK IT FREAKIN ROCKS and I PRAY it is as designed.

By Holo's deinition, an exploit is any bug, tactic or imbalance that people "use to the extent that it starts having wider repercussions on the game as a whole." Some imbalances are considered exploits while others are not. Until the devs speak out, it's all a matter of opinion as to whether the uber clones are having these wider repercussions. It certainly might be seen as game-damaging though, since anyone can use a non-CH pet while only advanced marksmen and pistoleers could use those FWG5s.

i dont see this super bunnies destroying the game. Its not like they are a ranchor. Without armor they only can tank for so long.

Whetherthis isan exploit, bug, or poor balancing isn't really relivent, it is clearly not intended.Example, being the old CH 3/3/0/0 was not how CH was intended to be played and was unbalanced. No one got the boot for being a 3/3/0/0 CH. This will be the same way. The pets will be deleted or given a different CL rating. The system will be balanced without banned accounts.

This isn't a credit dub, exp to FP point conversion or double slicing. This is a very rushed and untest update. The fault is not on the players. We will be getting a more polished system in the furture where many of these animals are given the boot. At that point BEs that are making these will find themselves with many upset customers and a bad rep, but no ban on their account.
