Thread: Has anyone noticed this about Experimentation?
I'm noticing that also. With the exact same materials, I seem to be capped at the healing stats and *maybe* at best I would get one more use if I get an "amazing" during the experimentation phase versus only getting "great"s.

I got 12points and no matter what i do the product comes out the same. Amazing doesnt matter anymore i guess. As an example, im making Stim D's right now. Stats are 1184 with 20 uses. I get these identical stats with, great assembly, great effect and great charge and i get the identical stats with all amazing experimentation.
I am also noticing this with components. Save some bespin port and assembly food and craft schematics in 30seconds...the stats seem to be the same.
Srry if this is old news, i am new to the proffession but was very surprised by this.

The extra points are only useful if you have two lines to experiment on, such as 'Power' and 'Charges' as it leaves a few left over to experiemnt the less valued stat (charges in this example).
A 10 pt BE making a Stimpack will be able to get the EXACT same stats on Power, but the 12pt would have more charges on his packs.

A very very long time ago, a friend of mine who was a droid engineer and master artisan said to me that if you get an amazing success, it could bump up the final stats. I have always remembered this and I never saw it - i guess that that must have been what he was talking about and that it doesn't happen in BE?

That would be a "critical success", they are supposed to be in-game, somewhere Ive read about one, but they are extremely rare.

I've never seen one. I made our mayor put research center back on our city. It costs me a couple of million credits once in a while, but helps with experimentation a lot.
I haven't noticed assembly helping anything. Doesn't matter if it's amazing or good the base stats are always the same.

Farstar had an AS get 44% stun I think maybe higher not sure with the resources we had by getting a critical success, In addition ... amazing successes are still very importnat when making abecs - but thats because, to me even if its only 1 extra power or 1 extra charge ... It's worth it to me
Plus, when making powerups I see a significant importance with double amazing successes

I've had them (I think) but never noticed them. I can think of at least 3 or 4 occassions where the product experimented unusually high. But I go throught the assembly stage so fast, I dont bother to read what the outcome was. It's nice when that happens on components that you are making schematics for.
