I had heard a rumor that the Defense Mods put in Clothing from BE tissue didn't work/were broken. So I ran a test with my friend and here are the results.
Before Clothing using Ranged shot only.
322 Damage (221 since elemental isn't working as intended)
322 Damage (221 since elemental isn't working as intended)
322 Damage (221 since elemental isn't working as intended)
322 Damage (221 since elemental isn't working as intended)
With BE clothes on - (Shirt + Pants with +16 ranged/melee defense mods)
322 Damage (221 since elemental isn't working as intended)
322 Damage (221 since elemental isn't working as intended)
322 Damage (221 since elemental isn't working as intended)
322 Damage (221 since elemental isn't working as intended)
I got the exact same result with the BE clothes on as I did with them off. I suppose this may be an already known bug, I just thought you guys might have an interest.

are you sure the md/rd tissues are supposed to effect damage taken? because i'm sure someone told methat it wasn't a damage reduction thing but an avoidence thing, check your log again and see what the varience in the creature/npc missing you is

accuracy raises damage, defense reduces damage.
avoidance? probably a CL-based calculation.
CL, of course, affects accuracy and defense.
as stat numbers rise, they become less effective (diminishing returns): +25 should be a boost from a base of 0, while +25 on a base of 200 will likely be unnoticeable.

Altho to the point...
This bug may be recent as BE mods have been pretty screwed up since pub 18 in crafting, so possibly that existing ones are not functioning atm either.
When they fix the BE crafting bug i hope someone can test this again.
Begining to feel like Tailors are going back to Beta

Yeah, please keep up the good work and don't let a little saber envy keep you down. We need all the constructive testing information we can get so we know what's working in the game and what's not.
As far as the defense mod clothing goes, it seems to have been broken since at least publish 17 and probably since the CU. This is independent of the broken crafting problems the tailors currently have.

Thanks for sharing this. It was explained to us by I believe it was Blixdev that this should actually make a difference in the damage, but who knows, perhaps he was mistaken. I also don't think that we can explain this and many similar tests as simply reaching a point of diminishing returns, because reducingthe damage by 1 point out of 322 is %0.3. Surely it's not > 0 < %0.3 right?
So I think that leaves 3 possibilities:
1) The tissues are reducing damage, but the display is bugged such that it can't be easily measured.
2) The tissues are reducing accuracy, not damage, despite what we've been told
3) They are completely busted, broken, fubar.

We did a test, shooting a person with +0 to +62 mods on clothing, and found no changes to the damage done, nor the chances to hit. This was done around Publish 17, so it's a post CU thing.... if it ever worked before CU, I am only guessing.
Food worked though. Trying different foods got the damage to rise and fall.
