It totally depends on what you want it for. Each schematic uses different qualities from the resources.
If your just getting stuff for clothes (which quality doesn't matter now) or grinding/practicing it doesn't matter what the stats are.
If you're planning on making stuff to sell try to get the good stuff for what you want to make. And experiment on the item!!!! There's already too much junk on the Bazaar.

Quallity means 900+ whether its OQ, flavor, whateever

I'll harvest down to 30% if it's high quality. Normally 60% plus is what I look for, but when I'm desperate I'll go low. Harvesting at 30% is cheaper than paying 5per or more fromt he bazaar.

Not sure if you mean the quality of the vein or quality of the mineral, so I'll take a shot at both.

As for quality of the vein, it depends on how far you will have to travel to get better. I generally try to stay above 40%, but have done less. Particularly if I try to double up the resources available through a given harvestor (e.g. primary copper, secondary ore) and toggle back and forth.

As for quality of the mineral itself, it is going to depend. Be sure you are studying the schematics of the things you are making now and those you want to make in the future (see swgcraft.com). Some resources are hard to get in very high quality with the necessary statistics (e.g. conductivity and overall quality for some weapons) so you have to take what you can get. I've realized that I've turned my nose up at some resources that later I found were needed. So if a certain type of weapon needs Doonium Steel and its quality is low, you will have to use it or not make the weapon.

Bottom line, for whatever master profession you have chosen, go to swgcraft.com and study your tree. I am now starting to bank certain metals (even with low stats) that I will need a few weeks from now.
