Thread: What should I be mining (on Ahazi)?

I just starting setting up harvesters and mining a couple of days ago after getting a little bored with my combat classed character. I have two wind generators and two personal mining installations that are mining copper. Well the copper, even though it's good quality and only 3 credits per unit, just isn't selling.

Any advice on which way I should jump with this?

First thing I would do is get more harvesters. The people who buy resources generally buy a LOT of resources. If you can supply them with the amount they want they are more likely to return for future business.

Don't sell resources on the bazaar. In general people overprice them and most crafters no longer even look at the bazaar as an option for purchasing resources. This is bad enough on Scylla where I play, I am sure it is even worse on a more populous server.

Try contacting people who live in areas with a smaller population. Some towns such as Coronet usually have plenty of people all competing to sell the same thing, sometimes driving prices into the ground (small houses come to mind).

Check out player towns. I live in a town made up of mostly crafters. Many of them, including myself will pay a little extra for resources plus travel expenses if you come and deliver it.

See if you can find rare, high demand resources. Things like doonium iron and link steel aluminum demand a high price from weaponsmiths.

Lastly here are a few general resources that you may try mining and selling.

Low Grade Ore - Architects burn through a ton of it. Weaponsmiths, droid engineers, and others often need specific types and specific qualities.

Steel - Everyone needs steel. Certain professions need certain types of steel, check swgcraft.com for details.

Organics - Medics and Doctors need high quality organics to make med packs. Doctors also need some very specific organics for high level things. Chefs also use good quality organics such as wheat and fruit.

Water - Seems quite a few people overlook this one. Medics and Chefs both use water for many components and items.
