Thread: In your opinion
In your opinion which of these professions has the best 'profit /public demand for the goods' ?
---Droid Engeneer, Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Tailor, or Architect ---
I don't have much time to play but I wanted to make enough of a profit to actually afford a house(vendor) and maybe a couple harvesters...
Thanks
So, any class at all.
You are going to find that this is a hard question to get an answer to. The economy of this game is still forming. Some will argue it's in bad shape, others will argue its not. I am currently a novice weaponsmith with about 1/3 of the boxes filled to master. I am in the red and probably will be for a while. I do sell thing but have to supplement my income by running missions and selling resources I mine.
My suggestion would be to go to the forums for the individual specialties you are considering and read through those. You will get a better feel for the issues.
Oh, and Viz, the guys new and asking a question. Please exercise a little tolerance in this forum. I have no interest in this discussion forum degenerating into the average alt.games.whatever channel.
That depends.
At the high level (master or near it) weaponsmith is without a doubt the most profitable. Weaponsmiths sell things for 80 cr a unit regularly. Get a list of the 5 wealthiest guys on your server they're probably all weaponsmiths.
At the low end though (novice or near it) they're all broke.
People only want the best guns. If you don't have the very best, well tough.
Armorsmiths are in a similar boat.
If you want something with a bit more profitability towards the bottom...
Well architects can sell their novice stuff, in fact it's just as good as the master stuff since their experimentation is broke. Trouble is there's too many architects, so they sell at cost or lower frequently. Plus there's no structure decay, so eventually they'll probably dry up. That said, architects can make money at all levels, they just need to resist temptation to give stuff away.
Tailor I'm not familiar with but I believe they're the most likely of the professions to be profitable at the low end. I haven't heard many tailors complain about not being able to compete around novice, but maybe I'm not listening.
So if you want to be profitable from the get go look to those two professions.
Right now nobody buys droids. Some DE's are rich off pre-nerf probots. There is a market for surgical droids now. I would steer clear of the profession for now though. They may look better when new droids are added (dev interview said droideka's and battle droids are on the horizon, and that new droids were the #1 priority after this patch.)
