This is really nice. One camp gives 130 XP. So, 10 camps is the first tier in the Artisan tree. It also gives Surveying (sp?) XP (15 each or something).

Just a tip.

Hrm. When I got myself a level in scout and tried this, I got a grand total of 18 general crafting xp for each camp made.

which camp are you looking at? i just crafted a basic kit and only got 22xp ????..

This wouldn't follow the general rule for craftingXP, so it seems unlikely, unless there's some weird bug. Is

I never paid attention to how many each one gave, but I made it all the way up to Engineering III mainly by crafting camps and traps for my scouting forays.
