The percentage you see when surveying is the concentration of the resource. So 90% means there is an awefull lot of it and it will be easy to sample a good amount quickly. You can only tell the quality by taking a sample and examining it.

I've recently begun doing some surveying, well a lot actually, and was wondering if aparticular resource will always be of the same quality.

For starters, is it the resource type or resource name I should be paying attention to when looking for certain qualities?

Secondly, if I find a particular resource on one planet will it have the same qualities on other planets in the galaxy?

Lastly, if/when a resource shifts out, if it shifts back in will it have the same qualities?

Just remembered, that I examined the fibreplast that I sampled the other night, and didn't see a "quality" reading, though there was a "quantity" listed.

I'm currently Survey III, btw.

The only thing taht determines the stats of a resource is the actual name, not the type. For example this week we had two types of "Platinite Copper". They had different stats,

However, any time you see something of the exact same name, the stats will be the same. We think there is a finite number of names and they will all come around again with the same stats. This hasn't been verified yet.

That's what I mean though. What stats do you look at, and what kinds of numbers would be considered good?

What's the highest a particular stat can reach?

This may be a dumb question, but when you survey for a chemical/mineral/whatever, the survey screen comes up with a list of percentages.

Are these percentages a quality reading? Or a concentration measure?

Just wondering because I had found a vein of fibreplast on Tatooine that read 90% and sampled a load before logging, but someone asked me "yeah, but what was the quality of it?" to which I gave a wide-eyed dumb Trandoshan expression.

If that percentage isn't a quality rating, what is it? And how do you tell the quality of a vein of whatever it is you're surveying for?

Again, my apologies if this has been answered a million times, but I'm new to the world of diggin' in the dirt.
