Ok, so I am new to crafting, and just qualified to make Bone Armor last night. (I know I am a Artisan nOOb ;p) Anyway, I have a few "Skill Enhancing Plates" from killing Sand People, and thought that I would be able to add these in the crafting process to improve the stats of the items I was crafting.
When I tried to craft, the plates didn't show up as components, or in the "Input Hopper" of my Armor crafting kit. I thought maybe I needed to be near a Public Crafting station, but that didn't work even when I sat next to one.
What am I missing here? Are these plates not working, or am I just missing a step? Or do I need to have Armorsmith skills to put them in the armor?
Thanks!

<waits patiently for an answer>
I had one of these drop but it enhanced a skill I didn't need. I did, however, buy several at the bazaar that enhanced skills I do use although I haven't figured out what they can be added to or how to do it. I did realize from glancing at something here somewhere else that they probably are added in to the crafting process some place rather than added to an item (for example my travel pack says it has three sockets) after the fact.
