I've never been able to experiment when making crafting kits before. Today I tried making a weapon crafting kit. For whatever reason, it gave me the option to experiment. I tried a few more, no experiment option. What gives?

You have to be next to a crafting station (public or private) of the type that the item you are trying to create and need to be using a specialized crafting tool for the expierement option to come up.
