Thread: Crafting just for exp...does anyone else do this?
I've found other ways to make enough cash to keep all my power stations and extractors running...and buy all the crafting stations I need. So, no worries about actually making money on items crafted right now.
But, I've noticed that the more I craft, the more exp I gain...and QUICKLY (esp up the engineering ladder). So, does any other starting artisan just craft and craft and craft knowing that you won't sell a bit of it? Do you even go so far as to craft just to get exp and then sell your items to junk dealers or even destroy them just for exp?
Seems that if I can hold my own money wise, crafting just for exp might not be a bad way to get to architect quickly.

Before you make the actual product, click the "Practice" checkbox. It will not place the item into your backpack but you'll get an experience bonus.
And this is basically the only thing I did... I sampled while crafting weapon powerups. If I made a good powerup, I kept it. If I made a crappy one, I would use it as a practice item. If I had a good powerup that I didn't like, I would throw it on the bazaar and it would get sold within a few hours.
It was hell for me as a Doctor and I still got Combat Medic to go... the cxp comes so slowly for us...
What are the advantages of practice vs. making the item, just that you don't have the item to deal with, or do you not have to spend the material cost as well? Thanks
Everybody does this. That's why SOE introduced the little "practice" checkbox on the final screen of crafting.
