This may be a better question to ask in the elite profession forums, but I'm hoping (and expecting) they all read this one too.

Would artisans object to certain lootable items in game which are needed when crafting items (weapons come to mind) being a limited use schematic obtainable by smugglers. In other words, if I as a smuggler could do a smuggler mission to obtain say the NS loot (can't remember what the actual component is) schematic that had maybe 5 uses but couldn't be run in a factory, would the artisan profession be up in arms?

We (smugglers) already know we won't be getting a system where we can smuggler for players in our revamp sosome of us aretrying to come up with other possibilities (since PvE smuggling missions hasn't exactly been ruled out) of ways we can create more content and player interaction with our profession.

Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Sounds good, but instead there should be a 'black market' faction (hutts or whatever) which sells the specialist loot items (only generic versions, not any of the 'yellow named' ones) for black market points.

I doubt that this would be a 'buy and sell' faction like the regular two are, but if would let smugglers 'call ina favour, and ask bob down the cantina if hes got any of that krayt scale lying around that he used to.'

I see what you're saying, but then that would kind of defeat the purpose.

Kinda looking to actually be able to smuggle stuff for people. This was one way I came up with, having master smugglers be able to take missions/quests for limited use schematics on rare (loot drop)items. That way we could actually get player interacted smuggling without the problems the devs have with smuggling for players. It keeps it PvE, but we're still smuggling something for the other players.

The problem with making it faction related is, smugglers are freelancers. Yeah they're gonna take the jobs from jabba because they may pay more, but that's because they're following the money.

I posted the system more in depth on the smuggler forums, but i gotta run, so I can't grab it and put it here...

By the way, thanks for being open to it... I would hope that something like this would balance the prices you guys pay for this kind of stuff without it becoming no longer rare.
