I have recently come into possession of 2 of the 4 rebel disks for the monthly story. I have been considering going after the other 2 and completing the monthly story. However, I have no interest whatsoever in the GCW. None. The last thing I want is some uber-1337 preteen BH screaming unreadable crap at my dead body because I got some TEF I didn't even know about. I also don't want some stupid message coming up telling me I can't sell to an Imperial if I want to. My question is, can I go reb, claim the stinking badge, and then un-go reb? Or does it not work that way? I guess I can understand them wanting to only reward the hardcore PvP'ers, but I can only hope that if this is the case then maybe next month there will be some reward we can all share. Although, I'm starting to agree with all the accusations of this being a combat-centric game, which is kind of a 180 switch for me.

At any rate, what are my options for claiming the badge and still being able to keep my customer base?

Get 200 fp, join a faction, get the other disks (soon it's over in maybe 2 weeks, I think), assemble them, and then resign your faction

You don't need to join a faction at all to turn the set in. Just complete the set, combine the discs, then give it to the appropriate recruiter. You will gain 500 faction points along with your badge and some cash, but that is it. Joining a faction is not a requirement.
