Thread: Serious harvester nerf on TC

You all might want to head on over the the architect forum or TC forum. There aparently is a serious harvester nerf there where storage capacity has been cut to 10% of current max (requiring daily visits) and efficiency of harvesters cut to 50% of current levels.

Details are a bit sketchy and this is second hand. Go check for yourself and by all means mention it to other crafters as this effects everyone.

If I didn't know any better I'd say you were trying to form a lynch mob.

I think the hopper size is the only thing that's actually changed. I'mguessing the panics about harvesters using double power or only having half output rate are just display changes.

On a live server, check the status of a harvester. Do the math with the maintenance rate and power consumption rate. I may have these backwards, but I believe maintenance rate is credits per real-time hour, but power consumption rate is given in units per game-hour (which is half a real-time hour). My guess is that they fixed it to standardize the display rates, but perhaps forgot to recalculate the time-left displayed.

End result: nothing changed (as far as consumption/output of resources), but the display's a bit off.

"Lynch Mob"...hmm, I prefer to call it community service.

Interesting comparison, However I did not post on every forum, only the 2 professions that I personally have characters in besides Architecture which already had a thread started and the correspondent posted to the TC forum. In hindsight I would have just posted the link to the TC thread and let people make their own minds up as I did in my other post.

I just ran a little experiment and posted the results in the thread on this subject in TC. Results look like they're slowing things down, but people need to not panic right now. I think it very well may be an oversight (for the reasons I touched on above), and we need to sit back and relax until someone official says something on the subject. It's only in *Test* Center, and there are plenty of people there who are asking what the deal is.

Well, the hopper size doesn't bother me so much, I visit mine daily either way, however the efficiency rate is ridiculous. That just puts one more straw on the camel's back.

Think about it for a second...if they changed the DISPLAY of what the Power Consumption is supposed to be doesn't it make sense that the BUG is not with the display but that they forgot to fix the code to USE twice as much power...hmmmm...makes sense it does...think you must.

*shrug* My version still makes more sense to me, but then again I haven't been hit by the paranoiac, devs-are-out-to-get-us bug that seems to have infected most of the people on the forums. From that perspective, I'm sure yours makes much more sense.

Bottom line, though... we don't know until someone official speaks up or we get some proper release notes.
