Thread: Basic Artisan: Most useless proffession evar
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing for the sake of bashing, but having attained Master Artisan ages ago I havn't built a single thing in the artisan field since I built my first Nemoidian Birdcage. The only purpose this profession serves is to springboard to the other crafting proffs (who actually have usefull things to build), and for surveying, (and I suppose those components that some crafters need, forcing em to go master Artisan to make em).
I only really thought about this since I couldn't build any clothes once I got master tailor, was looking for crap to do and even tho I'm master in Artisan, there's nothing really there for me to build.
All the base combat classes have benefits that carry on to help you as an elite profession, but not Artisan. It's like artisan is just a way for the dev's to force us to waste skill points.
Now I'd like to see more usefull stuff to build as a Master Artisan, give us things like night vision goggles, or make skill tapes an artisan item to build, or ingame books you can write in, or... heck I dunno, I'm no idea man. But **edit**, the Artisan profession needs new schematics cause right now it seems like a skill point sponge that serves no purpose other then surveying.
Then... you are not creating and selling the correct items. There's items in every seperate skilltree that sell like cupcakes @ 10+ cpu.

Master artisans have high experimentation points for making fantastic powerups, tools and other items. There are lots of moneymaking items to craft.

Master Artisan isn't that important to me but having it does mean you can experiment Tools Weapon Powerupsand Repair Kits to maximum.
On starsider the best conductivity we've had is 942 but with enough exp points I can make tools that have a +13.26 effectiveness rating. And they sell like crazy at 2k each.
Make friends with a droid engineer and offer to make all his Electronic Memory Modules andElectronic GP Modules.
I was serious. Maybe you're not able to sell it. But it is among the most powerful things in this game. Along with Telt Noodles and K18-Rations. Guess you've never done much fighting before. If you had, you'd know.
In fact, the mere existence of these items inside the Artisan Tree nearly undiscoveredis a proof that Chef needs some serious redesign.
